That's what's nice about living here. If you don't like the weather just wait, it changes every 5 minutes. I hate the hot overcast days. It makes 70 feel like 100 being so muggy. Well I'm off to get material to finish this 200 yr. old chair. I finished all the wood that needed repaired and refinished and it's time for the material. My next laptop project should be here today so I can start that dance again. I love all these projects to stay busy doing something.

We'll have your weather later Tracy. Partly cloudy right now but expecting thunderstorms later.

5c, I skip the duct tape on those pesky skin tags and go straight in for the kill. I soak my nail clippers in 91% iso alcohol, swab the skin area, grit my teeth, and snip them off! I take at least 800mg a day of ibuprofen (depending on my back, I may take a 2nd 800mg in the eve) so I bleed like a stuck pig. I tape an alcohol soaked cotton ball to the spot until the bleeding stops. Getting old ain't for sissies!

I just discovered I'm $200 richer than I thought!! I found out today that my car tags, emissions test, and registration is only due every 2 years. I did it last year...YAY! I'll still get a property tax bill tho. <grumbles about Ct taxing you just to fart>

Annual tax for owning a car?

Water is finally going down again at camp. This was yesterday, high point:

Straight back from the canoe is a metal boat lift, which is several feet back on land from the normal water edge.

Having a lot of fun with the kayak :) I've been in it four days in a row, even though today was only a half hour local tour.

Really?? That bites. Only property tax in NH is on property as in land and buildings.

Here in CA a property tax for our cars are included in our annual car registration fees. When I was in CT it was a separate bill so the registration fee was much less. I couldn't figure out why CA registrations were so high here when I first moved here. My dad who worked for the DMV in CT had to explain it to me.

He worked in the stolen car division and helped the FBI. He use to keep track of where I was living using their computers and that was many eons ago.

I noticed the boat lift in your last photo Mark, that's a lot of water. Glad you're enjoying the kayak!

Yep Fran, like I said earlier, Ct taxes everything. And we live on the line of 2 districts so I have to pay property tax for Manchester District as well as Eight Utilities District! If I wasn't a transplant here, I would never in a million years have chosen Ct or Mass. to live in. Mass is just about the only state with higher tax rates and more taxes on things than Ct. I haven't had to have a vehicle inspection since I was in my damn teens!

Over the last 30 years I've lived in the several places...

Tx...no state taxes, no vehicle property taxes or inspections
Maine...same
Florida...same
New Hampshire...same

I wasn't in NH long enough to change my tags there Fran. Ark was the last state I lived in that had state taxes, property taxes on vehicles and emissions testing. I left Ark when I was 17. They may have changed it by now, but when I was still in Ark. they used your SS number for your driver's license number

In Washington it's in the registration but they do tax everything. They told the tribes they had to start charging tax on cigarettes back when I used them. The funny part was they told them they could keep the tax money just as long as they charged it. Anything to make it more expensive to live.
