I am so used o the hype of running my .5 ohm dual doil at 22 watts.

Last night I built a 2.5 ohm single coil and ran it at 30 watts, HOLY COW at the vapor.....

HighOhms/HighWatts

I built my daughter a 1.1 ohm coil to run at 19.2 watts on her eleaf istick.
I built my self a 2.5 ohm coil to run at 30.00 wats on my e-lvt.

They are both pulling around 3.7-3.9 amps (Cant remember what they were, but they were VERY close)

Don't feed into the hype that sub-ohming is the ONLY way to make good clouds.

Anymore I see the subohm thing as being a 'statement' when using (especially) high-powered regulated mods. Due to amp limits there are sometimes benefits to lower resistance if you just HAVE to get those last 10 out of 150 watts from your device but for the most part subohming is what you use to get higher power from a non-regulated device.

So you mean you can throw a 2.2 build on a mod and push 50+ watts without getting a burnt horrible taste?
I'm not being a smart.... either.
Just curious.

I have run a dual coil 28 gauge kantal 2.0 at 60 watts on my Origen. I built the coils large and used rayon wicking with no problems with a dry hit. My only problem was I have the V1 which just has juice wells machined into the base so it's only good for 1 long pull then needs dripped again. It will start a second but about half way through goes dry.

How big would you say your coils are?
I just wrap mine around a 2.2mm screwdriver.
28g. Ka1 also.
They're about 3.5 mm which is about the biggest I can get without touching the center post or top cap. I actually use a screw and wrap the coils into the threads then unscrew it off which makes for perfectly shaped and spaced coils.

Glad to see more people are realizing that it's not about Ohms, but about wire surface area, power, and air flow. Take a look at the burners on your electric stove. They were not designed with low ohms in mind. They were designed to provide optimal surface area and heat transfer for your cooking devices - e.g. pots, skillets, frypans, etc. The stove's control knobs regulates and varies the power level to meet your desired cooking goals. That's why regulated vaping power supplies rock.

Bingo, wise words from someone that understands the science of vaping. Yah the screw method is actually a good way to go for micro spaced coils, as for the burning taste this happens if your running your mod too hot or using too high of gauge wire (yes, the higher the gauge of wire the faster it heats up). One of my favorite builds is twisted 28/36 gauge wire actually because of this property of high gauge heating up quickly.

I remember when VV/VW mods were for controlling the flavor of your vape and not trying to recreate a volcano, where did vaping go so horribly wrong is my question. My first VV/VW mod was the volcano Lava Tube v.1 :)

I am using an E-LVT 30 watt mod. Nothing super high, and I build my coils around a LEGENDARY PHILLIPS HEAD BLUE SCREWDRIVER that come with all RDA's and RTA's lol......

I did 14 wraps I think, might have been 12, I wrote it down but forgot lol.

Im used to doing like 6 wraps dual coil pushing around .5-.6 ohms, but this 2.5 will CHUCK the smoke.... JEEZ!

im calling shannanigans on this one! that would put voltage at 10.95! what device are you using?

I have many Blue Screwdrivers, they are kept locked away..my precious..no one will get my precious.
I believe that they are around 2mm'ish or so if anyone was wondering.

Disclaimer: Legendary blue screwdrivers do not give you special powers, they do not let you see in to the eye of Sauron, it may cause feelings of empowerment however does not grant super powers. Legendary Blue Screwdrivers are not owned, they own you. Please consult your medical doctor and 2 professional clowns before obtaining one.

Now that's funny! Why build a x.xx ohm coil and then never letting it heat up? (I see so many folks doing this) Isn't that kinda like building a 1.25 ohm coil, and then running it at 3.1v? (that's 8 watts BTW)

Call it what you want, I have nothing to gain by putting out false information. I did however go back a re-read my post and I should have worded it better, it's a pair of 2.0 ohm coils which on my mod shows 1.06 ohms so it doesn't need "10.95!", only 7.97 but if I want 10+ volts I can certainly go there and just so you can see, here's what I was running at this morning.
