Never seen the little translate bar and I have the social widgets blocked with Adblock. If you're using Firefox, I highly recommend that ;-)

Been using adblock for years now, but I was hesitant to use it on ECF. I guess it's my only recourse. (AdBlock and NoScript FTW)

Like Killjoy said use AdBlock if you have FireFox it cleans up a ton of the internet garbage. I lol'd at a friend who has become so used to ads that when he used AdBlock he was shocked that webpages could actually (usually) fit on one screen.

Why hesitant? It works fine and doesn't inhibit the forum functions at all Since I started using Firefox with those two extensions I haven't been able to live with using anything else, it certainly is a godly combination

Out of curiosity, I did open the forum up with IE . . . wow, never again. The screen was so crammed full of useless little icons and buttons that I wanted to scream

Why hesitant?

Only because when I use it, I tend to be lazy and universally block ads on any given site but I went ahead and just blocked the specific elements... I guess I was just lazy, which if you know me shouldn't come as a huge surprise lol.
