First time i vaped for a few months and stopped for some reason. Tried again a few months later. That time i stopped because i had raised bumps on my hands and my face was red. I was vaping 65/35 mostly. Turns out the red face was SD but dunno what the hand thing was. I stopped vaping and didn't go back to cigs!!! Fast forward 5 months and im going through a lot of stress. Start smoking. Have been PAD for a couple months now :(

Been trying vapping again for the last week. Slowly replacing the cigs. Using an evod glass and a very mild menthol (+ few drops extreme ice flavoring) 50/50. Prolly ends up more like 60/40 with the drops.

Noticed my knees and under my ears where itchy a few days ago. Knees went away but under the ears slowly got worse. Yesterday i only vaped. No cigs. Under my ears and parts of my face/neck where really itchy. Looked in the mirror and it looked like i had tiny hives. Took some allergy medicine and went to bed. Haven't vaped at all today and its much better. Not gone.. but better.

Should i try the scratch test with pg? I have a bottle of PG from the last time i tried DIY.

Im kinda scared to vape anything right now. Could i just do the scratch test with both pg and vg?

It might work, but if you are allergic to PG, and you scratch yourself with it, the results might be a great deal worse than just vaping it -- like, anaphylactic worse. Requiring a trip to the emergency room worse.

Also it's best to try the test the same way you're already encountering the substances, inhaled as vapor.

You mean just scratching yourself and pouring some liquid on? That won't work. A professional allergen test uses pure forms allergens titrated to specific levels in order to guage allergic reactions on a scale. If you just dump some liquid on a scratch chances are you won't react to it at all. And even if you did you wouldn't know what in the liquid you are reacting to.

If you are going to do this yourself it comes down to seeing if you react to PG, VG or your flavors. Do as Racehorse said: Get a small bottle of liquid in your regular nic level, one in 100 PG and one in 100 VG, both unflavored. However if you are already having allergic reaction to something so badly that it's producing hives you really should get a referral for allergen testing. Chances are this isn't the only thing you are having allergy issues with and that can't be managed until you find out. If the testing is done in a professional environment they will be able to deal with any acute reaction you may have during the testing.

In my case that sensation of itching was a symptom of a severe allergic reaction to PG. My entire career vaping high PG liquids lasted all of my first four days of vaping when on day four I had acute itching, nausea, vomiting and difficulty breathing after the first few drags of the day.

Please don't do this. What I suggested does not involved maiming yourself by breaking skin, etc. which could cause a rather serious infection.

As Rick said, either get scratch test professionally done or try the PG only VG only vape. I would begin w/the VG if I were you. Very few people are allergic to that.

vicki over at Cignot sells 15ml of each unflavored and it is very clean

Good lord, I hope that never happens to me. I've got all kinds of allergies, but thankfully not to PG. If I was allergic to that, I wouldn't even be able to use my asthma inhaler, nevermind vape -- because if I go over 25% VG in my eliquid, it suffocates me so bad I can't breathe.

I agree with others, please do not do a scratch test! You are reacting to something you're vaping, not something you're putting on your skin. There's no way of knowing how you'll react to that. Also, if you just test the solution you already have, you won't find out what you're allergic to.

Again, as others said, you need to try vaping pure PG and pure VG, on separate days. No nicotine or flavors at all. If you react to one and not the other, you've found the culprit. If not, try adding the same menthol flavoring you were using and see if that's what you're allergic to.

Also, you need to talk to your doctor about any medications you're on. It could be an interaction.

Please report back with your findings :) good luck!

I'm going through the same thing, it started yesterday for me when my head constantly itched and now my left eyebrow and bridge of my nose won't quit itching. It's a painful type like a million little needles poking my skin begging to be itched. I've been on the same liquid for 3 weeks at 30pg/70vg. Today I'm trying not to rub myself raw with the irritation, but I'd rather go back to smoking instead of dealing with this. My diet hasn't changed either so all I can think of it's ejuice.
