it will affect the overall battery life, time between recharges...and well the battery just isn't going to fire that thing like it should run....
honestly though even an eGo battery doesn't even really fire them like they should be...

would I use it...possibly
would I use it on my last or only battery....definitely not

on the other hand... if I were a dripper and choosing an LR atty I'd go the 306 route instead Low Resistance 306 Atomizer - VaporFlow
threaded the same as a 510 but with an exposed bridge so it's good for dipping too...and the cisco designed ones (which these are) seem to last longer

Also if you buy from Vapor flow go to his suppliers forum and register for the wetbox giveaway. I believe the WB offer is good for a few more days. Check it

No.... i would not use it. If you have a battery you want to purposely run into the ground then do it, if you want to keep that battery for a while then don't do it. Personally i dont use LR attys on anything but proper mods.

Good point Firefly - Never on a standard 510 but I get good performance on eGo 650 and 900mah batts. Yes it will shorten the life but batts are pretty cheap considering the extra vapor from a LR. Ordered "Proper" mod today. Provape so that I can truely drive the LR's. I know eGo does not give true 3.7. I am 3 months into this and running up the learning curve so w/ProV on way if I kill an eGo batt so be it I can't use a standard atty after 1 month of LR's. It is like hiiting an ultra light versus an unfiltered Lucky. Maybe next purchase will be 6V or VV to drive the 10 510 standard I have collecting dust.

I really wouldn't. Thing is, it will significantly lower the battery life, and the bigger problem that can possibly result from that is that it can short out and kill the battery when it's drained.

I wouldn't use an LR on anything less than a 650mAh battery, like the eGo. I wouldn't even use it on my Kr808 XL (380mAh) for more than a few minutes, although I know there are people who do. I just try to take care of my stuff - which is probably why I have never had a battery or atty die.

Maybe I'm overly cautious, but, it seems to be working. All my batts and atties are in good shape.

My vape of choice is a MEGA 510 280mAh with a LR 1.7 ohm atty...

it's completely fine to use a LR atty with a MEGA...

it won't ruin the battery...you will have to charge it more often than an EGO...so the 200-250 charge life of a MEGA will still apply and the difference in overall life won't be all that noticeable in the long run...

Hmm true.. Well I am fine with a regular LR atty then, just as long as it doesn't ruin and clog up on me in a week with proper care! haha.

just another thought real quick for you... that provape runs on 14500 batteries right?

spend the extra and get the AW LiMN high drain batteries....
a 1.5Ω LR atty at 3.7V has and amp draw of 2.47A
a regular ultrafire 900 mAh 14500 battery has a max drain rate of 1.3A
versus the high drain that has a max drain rate of 4A

translation...even on a "proper mod"... if you're not running the right battery the LR won't perform up to spec and you'll damage and kill the lifespan and capacity of cheaper batteries in the long run..

Thanks Drozd - I pondered upgrading to the AW's for all of 5 secs when I placed the order. Clicked that option and it is shipped with AW's

they really do make a difference...some people balk at them because well...they're pricy...
and people have a tendency to just look at mAh as far as batteries go ...but mah doesn't tell the whole story...

they hit harder and a true 3.7V....it's noticeable in vapor volume and taste...
and well because of that you're holding the button for less amount of time...
so you get the same overall abount of time say 290 3 second long button presses versus 290 5 second long button presses

and they do step up a LR atty quite a bit....if you figure that a LR atty on something like an eGo is pushing 6.41W and the LR atty on the AW high drain is pushing 9.14W
