I was going to get a 510.
Cherry flavored cartriges.
Then I read about cartomizers ... the hell is that.

Cleaning wicks and buying new ones?!

And I wanted to buy redbull flavored liquid ... then saw propelyn glycol ... and theres recipes and ess like that. The hell is going on?

Anyone willing to try and make me want this thing again?

yeah, I was a little boggled at first too, I'm in the same situation as you. All I can tell you is I just started using mine yesterday, and I LOOOVE it!!! And I saw a company with redbull flavored liquid, can't remember who sold it though. the cartridges are what you put the liquid in. the best way to get into e-cigs is to just buy a cheap one and try it out. a lot of them offer return deal, if you don't like it for x number of days you can return it and get your money back, that's what finally made me buy one. My only gripe with the NPRO I bought is the flavors that it came with were pretty gross, so I bought some fluid from totallywicked and I'm very happy with the results. I don't know if I can post links or not, but e-cigreview dot com has a lot of video reviews of different e-cigs, and also tutorial vids of how to get started. Believe me, actually seeing the different parts of an e-cig helped me out a LOT! Good luck, and it's definitely worth a try, because it's just like smoking a cigarette, minus the smell and health problems!

LOL Sunny!

I agree. It can be too overwhelming to somebody just starting.

The good news though, is that this forum is filled with so many helpful people, who really know what they're talking about.
The bad news is, I'm not one of them...:D

IMHO, just start with something you can handle, maybe get a 510 or a KR808D-1 to get started. You can always buy something else later.

Check these out to maybe steer you in the right direction:

I started with an 801 back in much simpler times(March 2009;)), and haven't had an analog since.

Try it, maybe you'll like it, then maybe down the road you'll be one of the super members here! How about that? :thumb: LOL

Just don't forget us simple folk when you're a star ok?

Have a great day!

Read the Wonderful World of Vaping thread that is stickied at the top of this forum.

:)

Agree completely. Get the overview from DonDaBoomVape's excellent 6-part thread. Don't waste time reading a million things about mods and cleaning and mixing and stuff like that.

Then buy the basic 510 kit from cignot.com (two 510's for $35), a couple 5 ml bottles of e-liquid, try vaping, and go from there.

The rest is all refinements. I bought the 510 a month ago and haven't been tempted to do anything with modifications or any of that stuff. Just basic vaping: charge the battery when needed, add liquid when needed, and enjoy the deeeeeeeeelishus sensation of the vape. Very simple, very enjoyable.

End of preaching. If you need to be talked into it, you might not be ready. No hurry. Try it when you think you've heard enough.

Okay so when I add liquid do I need to add propyl glycol?

If I buy the 510 now, do I need to buy special cartriges [or catamizers whatever] in order to refill with the redbul liquid I buy.

I spend about 70 in cigs a week, I make 65 dollars a week ha. So all this doesnt sound like a bad two week investment but...

How long does 10 ml of fluid last for a pack a day smoker?
How long do cartriges last before you need to buy a new one?
The wicks ... whats up with those?

people love to ridiculously over complicate vaping.its actually relatively simple.

get what you originally intended, plus a spare atomiser and battery, and a bottle of eliquid in a flavour you think you might enjoy.then take it from there.

thats it.happy vaping.

Hi sunny.

Find an e-cig starter kit that you like the look of

Find a flavour that you like the idea of

Buy it, try it.

If you don't like it, well, that's life, stuff happens...if on the other hand, if you do like it, you can start fine tuning your kit and juice to your tastes one step at a time.

I agree that coming to a site like this where people can't even agree on wether to use carts or not can bombard you with info and a mass of conflicting opinions.

You've just got to go with what feels right for you in the end.

Okay so when I add liquid do I need to add propyl glycol? No.

If I buy the 510 now, do I need to buy special cartriges No, the one from cignot comes with 5 pre-filled cartridges. You can refill them. I use them over and over and over and they work great.[or catamizers whatever] in order to refill with the redbul liquid I buy.

How long does 10 ml of fluid last for a pack a day smoker? Depends on how hard you're vaping. At least a week, I'd say. Always buy more than you think you'll need...you'll use it eventually. I use 1 to 2 ml a day, rough guess.
How long do cartriges last before you need to buy a new one? Should last for months, I think. Just pull out the filler with a tweezers, rinse with water, blot dry on paper towel, stick back in and add liquid. I've been using the same cartridges for a month. Good as new.
The wicks ... whats up with those? No idea what that is, unless you mean how the liquid "wicks" through the cartridge filler to meet the atomizer heating element. Don't worry about it. Just vape

See inserts.

Should I expect my 510 to break any time soon, or the battery to die. I thought they were rechargable... is it their repeated use that kills the batterys so quickly?
The batteries last a pretty long time, but you MUST have more than one.
You don't want to go back to smoking cigarettes while your one battery is recharging.

I'm just going to throw my 2 cents in here on the 10ml bit.
I was a pack to pack and a half a day smoker, smoking Kools.
@24 mg/ml i use about 2-2.5 mls a day. at 11mg/ml its closer to 5.5-6.

My first e-cig was a smokestik. RN4081 i believe. Tiny tiny carts on these things. I was re-filling 15+ times a day.

Then i bought a 510. For much less than i payed for the smokestik.

Now im waiting for my vaporking to come in.

So with that, my suggestion would be to get a 510 (i just read that i think cignot.com has a no box 510 kit for about 35.00) Get 10mls of fluid, and try it.
You'll know in the first 2 days if its something you want to stick with. at the end of day 2 If it is something you want to stick with, order more juice, continue to read and educate yourself here. Once you get an e-cig things will make much more sense and deciphering the information will come much easier.

Hope this helps

PS just saw your other post:
This really depends on your tastes. You wont really find a tobacco flavor that compares to anything you smoke now. And thank god. Those things are nasty now.
Im a big fan of cherry, vanilla, RY4, and my own recipe for a candied apple.

Thank you eric!

simple answer: yes
The parts do wear out. Much depends on how much you use them, but also, you get the occasional part that arrives DOA (dead on arrival.) Might as well be prepared for that. They can break if you drop them too. No need to worry about any of this until you try one first. If you try one and really like it, then you can worry about stocking up a nice supply of atty's and batteries, and juice, and passthroughs, and... lol... nevermind.
