I just assumed that they were already banned on planes. Last year I flew Air Canada, Delta, Alaska and WestJet and none of them allowed e-cigs. I guess it was airline specific...

Doesn't a smoke detector detect "smoke"? We don't produce any smoke. Damn I love that feature,
I've exhaled directly into a couple smoke detectors just for "haha's" and nothing happened.
I might have heard that it's possible to set off the smoke detector in an airplane head* if you are trying to do it with your vapor. But I think I also read that if you go in there and stealth vape nothing happens.

I was travelling by plane earlier this week, and was able to surreptitiously take a few puffs every now and then, but they were not full flights and I didn't have anyone sitting next to me.
Well if it detects any type of moisture along with smoke it just might set them off. I know that the detectors are really sensitive but not sure if they also detect moisture.
I think they detect particles in the air more than just smoke or just steam. I'll have to google it...
there are two kinds of fire detectors, the explanation was really sciency, but it comes down to: Yes, any thick plume of smoke, steam, fog, whatever, can set off a smoke detector.
i don't know why they would even ban e cigs...its not even smoking

but if you hold it in long enough most of your vapor dissapates before you exhale. I do it in stores all the time when I'm trying not to be noticed. Not sure if id blow directly into the smoke detector but I think you'd be alright blowin it the other way....maybe.
If you have time, take the train. Really, flying has sucked since 9/11. My new criteria is anything within 400 miles I'll drive and anything further I'll take the train if I have the time. You meet some cool people on the train also.
Or you can push the plunger for the sink and let the vacuum suck up the exhaled vape!
