Glad you girls were able to enjoy some sunny skies !!!!

Couple of nights back Spike's smile seemed a little off...Closer inspection revealed a missing front tooth....beside his right canine tooth...same tooth left side is dark inside and was irritated and bleeding slightly at the gum line...I cleaned that and it looked much better today...The first appointment I could get is tomorrow at 3:45...Overly worried I drove over too the next county to a vet I'd heard was excellent...turns out they're a spa, boarding, spay, neuter and emergency only vet...One good thing is they're open when all other vets are closed....all night and every holiday...Less than a year back Spike got the looking good from the vet on his teeth....now WTMFH????????????? I'm worried but will do whatever may be necessary to right this ship....

A few months back I kept having gingivitis...In the past when it occurred a little Listerine and it would go away...Now it would return quickly and seemed more severe...I googled it and this is what I found,,,Crest Pro Health linked to recurring gingivitis...Yeah my brand...Seems the bass turds at Crest were grinding up plastic to use as the scrubbing agent...Dental hygenists had noticed little blue specs buried in the gum line of many gingivitis patients....The link??? Crest Pro Health....Seems the little blue specs provided the perfect home for bacteria growth...A little Listerine and a switch too Colgate and no more gingivitis...Dogs get gingivitis as well....Unchecked it turns to Peridontis or Peri something !!! Fits Spike's symptoms to a tee...His teeth still look pretty good and I'm hoping the rest can be saved with a little dental care...I'm sure I passed the gingivitis to Spike...My ... is on fire for Crest ATM...I wonder how many people have suffered and paid out dental bills due to Crest saving big money and grinding up waste soda bottles for their abrasives...The FDA is way to busy worrying about life saving e-cigs to be bothered with this...Crest will just waltz away like nothing ever happened....I buy in bulk to lessen the trips too the store...At least six tubes of top shelf CPH went too the trash between here and the beach,,,,Bet this...They are on the El Dee black list for dang life....

http://ottawavalleydogwhisperer.blogspot.com/2012/05/dental-care-for-dogs-natural-herbal.html I just found this link....Trust we will be at the vet at 3:45,,,Past that I will follow a holistic approach to insure Spike has no more dental issues...Plenty of options at the link

Periodontal disease. You were correct ElDee.

I wish Spike all the best and please keep us posted. I've bookmarked that site as it is chock full of great information and it's all natural too, a double plus in my book!

Call the Crest company, give 'em hell!!! Better yet, go get your teeth cleaned and send them the bill. ;)

Thanks for the link Dee, I'll be checking it out for Chase. Hoping for the best for Spike!

I read about the Crest deal too...glad I've always been a Colgate user. There's also been the added antibiotic to toothpaste controversy recently, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. The claim that it's helping lead to antibiotic resistant diseases seems to be a bit of a stretch to me, but I'm no expert. On the other hand, do we really have "experts" that we can trust anymore?

We're back and knew as much beforehand as we do know...I did wrangle a rinse for the gingivitis out of them...NC Law requires a rabies vaccination each year and Spike is dealing with the effects of that now...sleeping mostly...They tried to push the 200$$ plus blood work tooth cleaning...along with the pay every month for vet service...Shocked when I told them he was on cattle wormer {ivomectin} from the feed store...Spike also has a little bump on his side....no redness or anything and looks the same as the surrounding skin....Yeah they wanted to stick a needle in it and send it off...I told the vet let's get rid of this dang gingivitis first...

I gotta investigate the link a little closer and make a shopping list....I know honey/cinnamon mixed looked like a good starting point along with some of that oil the wise men had....I linked too the dental page of that site as I really couldn't find access from the home page but yeah....Looks like some killer keep the dental disease at bay info for sure....

It would seem to me the people whom allow Crest to operate as they do would benefit greatly from a little time in a JAIL CELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would be a great deterrent for the next guy as well...I'm no fan of ebola but it seems a little strange with all the screaming....between bites of McDonald's sheet food and poison Coke...That sheet will get you long before ebola...
