Been vaping for a few months but had a hard time not smoking real cigs because they were less hassle and so convenient. I've given up on trying to use the cig-a-likes because they are just too fussy. My cartomizers never lasted and I always had to have 3-4 batteries and carts just to try to make it through a day at work. Often they would clog up or just run out of vapor and I got frustrated and just bought a pack of smokes half way through the day.
I own a Vamo V3 and V5 but they are for at home use only due to size. I ended up buying a few Ego type batteries and a couple of Kanger Mini Pro Tanks. I've had mixed success with the Kanger tanks so I also bought some cheap plastic atomizer tanks which have actually been as good or better than the Kanger tanks. A couple of 5 packs of coils and a bunch of juice and I think I have found me on the go all day set up.
I take two fully charged and filled Ego batteries and mini tanks and that gets me through the day. I know that's the setup most people start with but I went the long way around to find it.
I have not bought a pack of cigs for two weeks now. I did bum a cig on two occasions and hated the taste. When my ecig is working, I much prefer it over analogs. The trick is keeping them working. The coils don't last more than a week even if you clean them. They are only about a $1-2 each so I'll just keep buying coils and replacing them. I can get a 5 pack of coils for $6-7 shipped and a bottle of juice for $5-9 and that will last me a month. That's less than $200 a year. My analog habit cost me about $900 a year and made me feel bad. Even adding the cost of batteries and electricity to charge them, I bet it's less than $300 a year which is 1/3 the cost and makes me feel way better than regular cigs.
My nagging couch is already gone but I still couch a bit in the morning if I Vaped heavily before bed. My informal take on vaping is that it is far better for you than real cigs but it still puts junk in your lungs which isn't good. If you want to be 100% healthy, you shouldn't vape either but all analog smokers should strive to quit and move to vaping. It's probably less healthy to vape than not but it's certainly more healthy than real cigs. Small steps. Ideally nobody would ever smoke or drink or eat sweets but let's be honest, we all have our vices and replacing them is a viable solution for many people who wouldn't or couldn't quit cold turkey.
