Those of you with Mechs and VV/VW Mods... How often do you switch and why?

WOW, I guess Im not the only one that thinks mechs are just the "cats pajamas"

I pretty much feel the same as others. I do have both, but if put up against the wall and asked to make a choice, it would be a mech for me. It would be a "sophies choice" to chose one of the mechs, but thats a whole other subject.

I do find that lately when I go out , Im really stressed ( long story, boring ) but to the point that taking either my Pro 2.5 mini or P3 is easier, but lately I reach out and grab my Kainos box mod because its the only 18650 that does not feel awkward for me with small hands.

Its like driving, automatics are great when driving to work or long unwanted trips but for fun and relaxation, to feel the road and engine, its a mech-manual transmission.

I had a couple of RX200's and they are great mods for the money. Not the most durable mods ever made (I.e. don't drop one!), but the battery life was great at 30-50w. I got rid of them due to size and I just had too much stuff. The stock 510 isn't great by any stretch either.

Question.... Do you use different strength juices when using your mechs? I am 6mg across the board mainly (RDAs, 12w/1.8ohms on a Provari, 40w/0.25ohms on a SX Mini M, etc.) but down to 1.5-2.0mg on an 18650 mech with a 0.4-0.5 build.
I don't have any RX200's, That's the DNA version with a real 510 installed. It's really durable now that the 510 & wiring was upgraded to board spec; which is 16ga wiring.
I vape 3mg pretty much all around, but if I'm using a tank with restricted airflow like a Nautilus mini Id most likely use 12mg

Since I like having several different flavors available to me I have any 2 mech boxes (parallel/series) with RDAs going at any given time. I also have 3-4 regulated devices with RTAs/sub ohm tanks going at the same time. I usually take one mech and one regulated device to work with me. It's nice to have a couple of different flavors at work, but more importantly you gotta have a backup when you're away from the house 11-12 hours 5 days a week.

I won an indestructible and needed to match it to a mod, so it's on the Pico.
I love it! Now I need another one for my time keeper lol.

I started on regulated devices, but over the last couple of years have shifted towards just using mechanical devices 95% of my time. Selling off or gifting away the majority of my regulated devices. I primarily use a VS DNA 200 to dry fire my coils, check Ohms and for my Boreas.

I prefer the aesthetic and performance of mechs, I like that I can build and tweak my coils to tailor my vape. I like that I have no restrictions on my builds outside of Ohm's law and common sense. And find that Mechs offer better power to weight ratio as well as delivery albeit at the cost of battery life (using mechs on the go means that you are carrying around spare batteries and I am happy to pay that cost). There isn't a regulated device for instance that can match the power output and performance of the Anubis Mod at it's size or cost.

In my opinion the money spent on mechs goes into build quality, engineering and design of the device rather than chips, wires and marketing. Aside from TC, there has been nothing new of any significance on the regulated market. Yes devices have contested claims of being more powerful and have got smaller, but if anything devices are poorer on the whole and have a shorter shelf life. Sigelei used to be my go to brand, my Sig 100w and 150w (which I gifted away) are still going strong, compared to the 213 which aside from its size was disappointing in its build quality and overall perfomance.

Admittedly I do like the DNA chip however Escribe quickly lost its charm for me. I like the concept but in practice was an additional complication, I just want to juice my wick, press a button and vape.

Whereas the Mech market has been releasing innovative exciting designs constantly with top build quality and have been getting better year on year. Devices that have reverse polarity protection, devices that require no tooling to disassemble. Direct to battery connection, customisable options.

Mechs are a life style choice

Cloupor GT - reg mod ... used mostly when I'm traveling, or in the office. But I still have my mech mod in my bag ... just as a spare.

Philbox mod v3 - mech mod ... when I'm at home, or having coffee right after lunch, or wanting to focus on understanding a document or two in the office, or when in a serious talk with my supervisor in the office, or when I'm feeling sleepy in the office.

Up to 2 yrs ago, no brainer regulated.
Then i got a Poldiac, & another, then a Scarabus.
Mechs are timeless works of art, pure sine wave..
My tastes have changed a lot in the last couple of months since I initially posted this thread. I use mechs almost of the time now. Unless I am going to a bar or travelling, I am using a mech.

The only reason that I'm not 100% mech is because I own a bunch of Provaris that I hate see sitting unused and also most of my mechs have locking rings that can get stuck when I am out and about which can be a PITA.

I can say that unless there is a game changing new regulated technology released that I can't live without, I expect that I won't ever buy another regulated device.

I moved from mechs to ProVaris as my regulated day to day mods for their smooth consistent power. My mechs are now mostly fun at home and peace of mind should my ProVari hoard one day give out. Top button, upper side button, lower side button, bottom button and an epipe keep it interesting. Most regulated devices just don't give me the smooth power of a mech at lower wattages, so they aren't an option.

Think I follow a lot of people around these parts. Regulated when out and about and mechs at home. When i'm at a bar, game, etc, I have no urge to mess about with "guessing" where my batteries are at or fiddling with drippers. Cuboid with a limitless XL is my go to and she never fails to perform. Lounging around at the computer, NC and velocity take over.

I have found that the boring regularity/reliability of regulated devices is perfect for work and out/about - which I would compare to smoking cigarettes. Mechs at the house for hobbyist, relaxation purposes I consider more similar to smoking cigars or a pipe. Does that make sense?
