Good on the Xanax...the waiting they make you go through for pre-op & scheduling is more than enough to get to you and everyone around you...
Too bad they can't just say...ok, we need to do "this"...and do it !

Would make for less stressed patients !

I'll be keeping my eye on "you taking care of you" too !
Monday prayers !

...things have actually moved pretty quick, considering, all a matter of scheduling of a "non-emergency" situation...Marlene was driving herself nuts, worrying about "what ifs", to the point of going into near hysterics over some of it...Xanax has put a stop to that...pharmacopeia, properly applied is a wonderful thing...we have to go back up to Shreveport(120mi) on Wed for some additional prelim stuff and then back for surgery on the following Monday...if all goes well, she will be in Neuro-ICU for 2 days and then 3 in a regular room before being discharged from the hospital...thanks again, ever so much for the thoughts and prayers, they mean a lot to me(us) and are highly appreciated.............Jack

I am relieved that some of the worry was able to be shut off...I so know what worrying yourself sick is like, I am good at it :)
You can bet you have some serious prayers and strength being sent for you two !

...yeah, we went back upto Shreveport today and met with the surgical team and the anesthesiologist and got all the preop/prelim stuff done today...my poor Baby, all she heard was the bad stuff...all I listened to was the good...which far outweighed the bad...oh well, it is understandable and afterall, that is what the Xanax is for...they probably won't do both of them(but it is possible still) and if not, it will be 3mos before they do the second one...it'll be a long 3 mos...

...on the bright side, after talking with them and discussing what her recovery should be like, if it all goes well, I shouldn't havvta put my hip surgery off but for a week, meaning I can have it at the end of the month and both of us can recover at the same time...luckily(I guess) my wife's 32 yr old daughter is living with us at present and she has stepped up and helped a lot and we will be able to depend on her(kinda/sorta) while we are doing our recovery...

...once again, those positive thoughts and prayers are sure enough appreciated...thank all of you ever so much..........Jack

Madjack, I just ran across your thread.

Your wife has one of my daily prayers, that she sails through surgery with flying colors, and that her recovery is swift.

"You" have another of my daily prayers, first, that you can continue to find the strength behind her strength; and, secondly, that you are able to finally get the deserved healing you have long waited for, and that your recovery is also swift.

Your wife's daughter also gets one of my daily prayers, that she remains strong and healthy as she faces all of this as well. May her strength intensify to sustain the two of you. It is a blessing that she is able to be with the two of you, to help each of you as the other faces surgery, and through your recoveries.

...funny thing about the step-daughter, she married a real scum bucket about 8yrs ago and together, they went all the way down that road of drug addiction...as an old school hippie, I could see it coming and nothing her mother or I did could head it off...after losing her daughter to the State and dumping the scum bucket, she came to live with us 2.5yrs ago...she spent better than a year fighting her addiction and finally...on her own hook...committed herself to a State inpatient rehab hospital...she spent 45 days there, got herself clean, got out, got a job and has been clean for 10mos now...is dating a real good guy who hates drugs and rarely drinks(we like him)...she is really anxious to help us out and repay what we have done for her over these last couple of years...

...a win/win(and a blessing) for everyone...............Jack

...well after talking with the surgery team yesterday(2/8/12) and based on what they told us to expect to experience with Marlene's recovery, I contacted MY surgeon(for my hip) and we have tentatively re-scheduled my hip replacement for March 7...this is, of course, predicated on how Marlene's recovery is coming along and how much step-daughter is stepping up and helping out...that way, we can "recover" together....................Jack

I am so very sorry to hear that you & your wife are plagued by these horrible health issues.

I will send this link to my friend who is a renowned born gifted healer. I would say that her healing average is 800 out of 1,000 people.
I am seeing her tomorrow & I will pull this link up on her computer and ask her to send both of you a healing prayer. It would help if you PM'ed me tonight with both of your first names (with last names even better, but I do understand the need for privacy) since I don't have pics to show her. I will also PM you back with her web site link, so that both of you can tap into her energy as well. Her pic is on her web site.
She is very kind & generous, I am sure that she will do this for you & your kind wife.
If you like, I can PM you from her house to let you know that she is about to start. That way everyone is thinking and receiving at the same time. Pls let me know via PM if that is okay with you.

I will also send you my prayers.

"May highest powers that be, "Bless & Heal" the both of you IMMEDIATELY!"

Best of luck to the both of you.
