Thoughts on a VV mod.

I have a Maxi RS v2 and I thought I was set. Well I was at my local vendor and I saw the ProVari. That thing made my RS look like a 89 honda civic to a 2012 Mercedes Benz (lol) I was doing a bit of research and I saw the lavatube. The ProVari is nice (weight, hit, etc) but the price was outta the roof! Lavatube alone is about $69.99 which is a fraction of the ProVari. I'm calling out to all my mod experts, which VV should I invest in next (probably my last mod) that takes 18650 batteries? Thanks fellas!:vapor:

I would say do some more in-depth research to be sure about what you want. Reviews, YouTube vids, ect. Lavatube/Volcano actually just fixed their warranty issues. At least as of a couple days ago, the restrictive warranty issue has been lifted that any 510 threaded device may be used without voiding warranty except for hand built atomizers.

Exact words from them in case i'm off point -- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/237094-coming-soon-lavatube-12.html#post4635633

I'm forcasting there's going to be a big battle on Provari vs. Lavatube(we see it already here and there)

The major fans who rightfully love their Provari and those of us who want a VV mod but dammit can't afford a Provari.

I'm leaning towards waiting until the Lavatube rolls out. Seeing what happens, if they're are quality issues or not. I've been keeping up at least trying to on the Lavatube. An affordable VV mod is exciting and I'm sure the company whatever it is that makes Provari are a bit nervous as they should be. Lavatube is going to be a game changer. I'd rather wait a little longer for the kinks(if any) to be straightened out before I get the "First One" just for bragging rights. Just my :2c:

I was thinking that, but it doesn't power dual coils. And I'm a huge fan on Dual-Coils.

Like the poster above said dual coils are not needed with a vv device but if you want to it will run 2-2.5 ohm dual coils at 6v no problem and 1.5 ohm dual coils at 4v. So if you like dual coils it isn't a problem as some like to make others think......

Both the Provari and Lavatube use a one battery configuration and a booster circuit so your going to be amp limited with both due to the one battery configuration, you can't get blood from a turnip. If you want a VV that handles dual core across the entire range you need to look at mods that use a dual battery configuration and a regulator with higher current specs.

The Provari and Lavatube have the same current cutoff and use and use a high drain 18650, results should be similar with a dual core or any carto/atty for that matter. The current limiter works a little different in each though. Once you go past the limit in the Provari it gives you an error code and won't fire until you set it withing spec again. The lava tube won't stop working it simply scales the regulator down to a safe current level when you try to operate it at a higher level.

In short if you go to high on the Provari it won't work, the Lavatube will work but it won't be at the voltage showing on the meter, the regulator will be scaled back.

Lets get some BUZZ love up in here! Anything with a built in LCD scares me, Ive broken everything with a screen that I have ever owned at least once.

You've got it, I've got the Buzz Pro and love it. The LCD didn't scare me, was just an added feature I didn't need, plus I've got a screw on meter if I ever need to test the voltage for some reason.

The number on a meter doesn't make it vape any better. Just slap a carto/atty on, dial it in and vape. Much better value imo that does the same thing without the bells and whistles.
