Thoughts on chimney coils?

Been building for a while, mostly single and dual coils depending on the rta/rda I'm using, came across a chimney coil build tutorial earlier today, was wondering people's thoughts on this build, currently using a KFL+V2, is it worth the extra effort?

Yes, yes, and yes.

Remember how people used to rave about carto flavor? A chimney/vertical coil with the wick wrapped round the outside basically replicates this in the form of a rebuildable.

It's a win - totally worth the extra effort!

Horizontal builds in my KFL+ tend to last about a day before they lose flavor and need a rewick.



I'm on day 15 with this 1.1ohm 8 wrap chimney on a 3/64ths bit wrapped in J cotton.


So, there is another reason to try it. Make sure you get the coil bottom off the block or it acts as a heat sink.

Certain atomizers are actually suited quite well for chimney coils. The Origen and Veritas come to mind first. I own two Origen clones and run both with dual chimneys, excellent combination of flavor and vapor production. They are a little more difficult to build and install compared to standard/horizontal setups but the extra effort is totally worth it -- and with practice it'll become easier.

It is the only way I set up my KFL/R91 attys. I use Rayon wicks and they last a week or more.

Never tried Rayon, usually just use organic cotton
