Hey Bloogers,

Just received my Bloog Trifecta an hour ago and have been testing it out. This is my first Bloog product, so I thought I'd share my initial impression about it.

Obviously, from my signature, I'm a V4L fan. They're what got me off analogs and have been great to me ever since I started vaping over a year ago. What brought my attention to Bloog, was of course Leaford. He used to work for V4L and did some tremendous things there...can't thank him enough!

My reasoning for getting the Trifecta is a two parter: I wanted to try one of the Bloog products and the Trifecta is supposedly (stated by Leaford) what was once supposed to be V4L's new battery, the VK-1. Talk of the VK-1 has died down over the past few months and who knows if it will ever come into existance. Leaford stated in a video about the Trifecta, that the VK-1 got put on hold (possibly permanently) but he still wanted to finish it and was given the chance here at Bloog.

So, on to my impressions! I have mixed feelings about the Trifecta, not because I'm a V4L fanboy, but there's always the good and the bad right? I think its a very sexy and comfortable battery! I love the overall looks of it (very high techy) and has a good feel in my hand. The auto sensor performs much like V4L's standard batteries. Sorry, I can only compare it to V4L batteries since that's all I have. I know it doesn't have the MaxxFusion auto sensor in it, but I have no complaints about that. The manual side of it performs just as expected and I'm happy about that since I love manuals. Its just a really cool battery haha!

Edit: I forgot to mention...it has a 10 second cutoff too HURRAY!!!

So...it works good, but there's always room for improvement, right? So onto the cons: Well, as stated by a few other people, the usb connection to the battery end fits crooked. I just bent the prong slightly and it looks better. The cord is very short compared to other PTs I've used...over a foot shorter than my V4L PT (even without stretching out the coiled part of my V4L PT.) Would be nice if it were a bit longer. My second con would be the switch. Its not so bad, but a little loose (it jiggles). Its much like the switches on older style manual batteries. Its alot bigger than V4L's and much less flush with the battery. That's really the only things I can find wrong with it. :)

Now, I did order a pack of menthol cartomizers. How could I truly test it otherwise lol? I like the vapor output on them, especially for them using straight PG. The TH was very lacking though and I got the 16mg level, so I know its not because of that. From experience, menthol usually have alot of TH, but in my opinion that's not the case here. I normally use 18mg nic level, so the 16mg should be comparable, but no luck :( I didn't care for the menthol flavor either. Its not the worst I've had, but its far far from the best. To me, it has a bad chemical taste. To best describe, it tastes exactly like Vick's chest rub smells. It also tastes a little burnt...I know it can't be because its a brand new cart and upon inspection under the end cap, it was plenty saturated. It's probably just the bad tasting menthol that's making me think that. I think the rubber end caps are awesome though! I haven't refilled one yet..again, only had it an hour thus far. But I certainly like the idea! Very easy to remove too without a tool, if you like to replace them with drip tips.

So, there are my impressions. Take them as you will. But, I'd like to say that just because I came from V4L, I am in no way trying to be bias. I like the Trifecta and who knows, I might try the MaxxFusion sometime. I don't like autos, but if they come in manual with a better button than the Trifecta...there's a possibility of me getting one . :p

Thanks everyone for listening!! =~-^=

Thanks Mr. Hyde! Other than defending the Menthol flavor, which is my current go-to vape, I think it's a pretty fair and accurate review. I've been very gratified by the sales and feedback on the Trifecta, but you're right about the plugs and the cords, and those are among the improvements I will insist on when we reorder.

Plus, I've almost convinced my MaxxFusion manufacturer to at least work up a prototype for a "Maxx Trifecta" with two additional features. ;)

Is there a reason they don't want to take this up?

He claimed he didn't think it would sell, but I think it was just hurt feelings over my having taken it to a different manufacturer way back when he first designed it. Either way, all the positive comments and sales are the answer to changing his mind. :thumb:

Thanks Mr. Hyde! Other than defending the Menthol flavor, which is my current go-to vape, I think it's a pretty fair and accurate review.

Hmm, I blew out and washed the menthol out of it and put my own favorite menthol. Still had that Vick's vapor rub aftertaste to it. Might just be because I didn't soak it in alcohal to get rid of the flavor. That or its burning, like other people's cart's I've read in the different threads here.

I might've just got a bad batch of cartoz, but if so...that's alright. Someone is sending me their Reds MF carts since they don't like the flavor. I'll see what happens with those.

EDIT: I broke open a new carto and it tasted fine the first couple of vapes, then started tasting like the first one. Its almost like a burnt plastic or rubber.

Also, after using it most of the day at my friend's house. It told me it was time to recharge, so I put it on my friend's V4L wall charger. Few hours later, the charger said it was good to go so I started using it again and it quit after 20 minutes. So I'm thinking it just isn't compatible with other chargers or it can only be charged via its own cable?

Weird, I thought the draw was perfect on the trifecta, that is one thing I liked about it (I just sold both of the ones I had in the classified section). Just goes to show you, you can't please everyone :)

MrHyde, I would say something is wrong. I have cycled through about 50 BMF cartomizers and not one acted like you described. I get a dry hit when its time to refill, but that is something I would expect. What is unexpected and a nice treat, is I get the same performance and vapor from full to empty, no degradation at all.

yeah, something wrong for sure. Maybe you got a batch that was made on friday afternoon... :) lol
sorry, I know its not funny :(

Kind of like race engines, you always want the first one made of the day, before the tooling gets dirty, etc.. the ones made later in the day seem to push the acceptable tolerances.

MrHyde, what ratio PG/VG was 'your favorite menthol' juice you refilled with? These cartos do not like anything less than 70/30, in my experience. Thicker juices don't wick well.

Frick, the problem was with the origional pre-filled carto. I thought it was just a bad flavor so washed it out and refilled it with my own juice. It still had a nasty taste so I tried using another. The second carto, I vaped on straight out of the packet and it tasted fine the first 4 - 5 puffs, then tasted nasty like the first. The juice I use is approximately 70/30 PG/VG, but it tasted weird or burnt straight out of the box without refilling with my own juice.

I've read the other threads in the Bloog sub-forum about burning cartos. This leads me to believe it has nothing to do with the ratio of VG in the juices used, but simply faulty cartomizers. Perhaps just a bad batch, maybe the manufacturer changed something Leaford isn't aware of. I read in one of the posts about someone discovering a melted silicon ring in the cartomizer upon disassembly.

Well...sadly, until the MF cartomizers get sorted out so they work consistantly, I will be sticking to my WOW carts (which work on the Bloog, V4L 3.7v batteries, and 5v PT.) Really hoped I'd like the MF cartos, but since I only got one pack and they're defective (yes, I used them exclusively on the Trifecta) I'll just wait a few months till they're fixed and possibly try them again later.

Sitting here vaping on my new Trifecta...........and I love it. Tons of vapor. No complaints at all. However, I am using V4L cartos on it. I ordered the menthol Bloog cartos and I think they are awful. Some kind of chemical plastic taste. I washed and refilled a couple and that taste is still there. I will try washing again. BUT I DO LOVE THAT TRIFECTA (manual vaping is awesome!)

I like my Trifecta, but my usb wire seems to have a short as it won't keep a steady connection to it I have to always turn the wire around inside the battery every 30 seconds to a minute which is annoying. Don't get me wrong I love these bloog products, hell I've literally spent close to 400$ trying 2 mini PCC kits, 4 extra batteries 50 blanks ( 1 kit 2 extra batts and 25 carts for a friend who doesn't have the money to try vaping, and quit smoking so I wanted to help he and his wife get started ) and the Trifecta - yet i seem to keep getting things I have to return. My PCC quit working the 2nd day I had it and won't charge my batteries so I have to use my V4L charger for my batteries, and I was only sent 25 of the 50 blank carts I ordered ( problem was corrected ). So tomorrow I have to send in my PCC kit and wait for a new one. I seem to be having the WORST luck with the items I'm getting from them - but hands down the e-cigs themselves and the performance of their carts are the best out of anything I've bought in the last year since I started vaping. Other then e-liquid I'll continue to buy my supplies from Bloog I just wish the things I purchased charged correctly. Is anyone else having problems with the Trifecta charger having a loose fit inside the battery or is it just me?
