"Get your Bloog on! USA
I talked to Mike early this evening when I had my "sky is falling" moment and thought that there was an error in checkout basket prices - there was not. However emails were bouncing and Mike was on the road and asked me to help him out and contact the webmaster with our issues here. I sent an email with a copy/paste of the issues that I found posted and then the webmaster registered here and checked the forum again. They can't post (newbie law) so I was asked to post this message from the webmaster.

Update from webmaster:

Hi MoonDance:

We tried to post in the forum tonight, but it won't let us because we are newbies. :p

Do you think you could post a general on our behalf, just letting people know that we are monitoring the forum so that we can correct bugs when found and make the site better for everyone? We appreciate all of the comments from users - both positive and negative. We realize that some of them are merely opinions while some of them are actual problems/bugs, but we read them all and take them all into consideration.

We are doing everything we can to get the new site up and bug-free. This type of deployment is not nearly as easy as people think it is - it is not as easy as flipping a switch, and there are many things to be handled, most of which the end user will never even know about.

We have handled all of the bugs put forth in the forum so far, and will continue to do so... with one exception: Evie Luvs comment about seeing the affiliate codes. They obviously should not be there, and we have searched high and low on the site and simply can not find the link/page that she is referring to. If she would care to elaborate, we would appreciate it so that we can correct the situation immediately.

We are still working on the DNS issues, which are obviously going wrong somewhere, but we have yet to determine the exact cause. There are many links in this chain, and we are doing what we can. We shall continue to improve the site based on bugs that users find and some of the suggestions from the forum.

Thanks!

And this followup - referring to affiliate code bug and it's removal

FYI - someone posted the location of the bug and we removed it IMMEDIATELY. No personal information was alongside the codes, and since "stealing" the codes would only result in a benefit to the affiliates, we will not be reissuing/deleting any codes, although they will not be displayed on the site, and we apologize for that oversight.

Keep us posted on any other bugs! We are committed to getting this site smoothed out for our customers.

Thanks!

Ok, I was able to get to the new site this morning so apparently the DNS issue has been resolved.

BUT, the FLASH must go! Leaving it on the homepage for a while locked up my browser and my computer. I had to execute a Force Quit to kill Firefox. Stuff like that will scare people off your site faster than an unsecure warning.

Some stuff to note:

1. Your newsletter signup requires that I leave checked the list for "Still Smoking". I unchecked because I am NOT still smoking. I then encountered an error telling me I did not select a list. This is more than a little confusing to someone who might not know why this error occurred.

2. The Flash MUST GO!

3. Not really pleased with the navigation. I have to make too many clicks to get to the products I want. The "Bloog shop" should have a drop down list that allows me to select the categories (i.e. batteries, Cartomizers, etc.).

4. I don't like the pictures on the products on the site. The background take away from the products. I can't see them very well and the lighting washes out the colors. See the green battery as an example. What color is it? I'm not sure. Also, there are several images that are not high quality on the magnification. See the cartomizer pic on a white background as an example.

5. The photoshopping of the stock photos, adding in the Bloog product, is not well executed. It gives the impression that you are too cheap to take the photos yourself, don't have enough money to take the photos yourself, or that you are a new startup and just used what was at hand. None of those are useful to Bloog from a marketing perspective.

6. The tabbed menuing on the products (Description) where the background is white is not visually appealing and looks odd as hell.

7. Where is the product data? Why wouldn't you include as much information about the products as possible for those of us who are e-cig savvy? It won't matter too much for a newbie but it is always better to provide more information. Customers view this positively.

8. Need to look at the search box in the header. There isn't enough space to see the category drop down to the left of the text box for the search function in Firefox. I would actually eliminate that drop down menu as there isn't enough content on the site to require that level of filtration in searches.

9. There is a pipe after the Sitemap link. As there isn't anything to the right of it there is no point to that separator.

10. It was interesting to see when I logged into the site that I was able to change my account type from Customer to Affiliate. Really? That can't be by design.

11. Where is the juice?

There are other issues that need to be addressed but I think that is enough to be getting on with.

I hate to say it, but I don't see where from a Customer perspective, a User of the site, that this is an improvement. Maybe the inventory module is better with this shopping cart and maybe there is other functionality that made this one more desirable. But we, the customers, don't see that part.

Thanks for the update Moon. I question this response though:

Had it only been the affiliate codes for giving to customers I might agree, but Evie said our own personal ones were there too, which we will not benefit from. The affiliate codes are 1-time use, but the others are forever, and Bloog is the one that will suffer the loss of income from unauthorized people using them.

I sure hope they consider those horrible pictures to be a bug and squash them :)

I still cannot access the site, it just goes to the old one (both bloog or bloogplanet dot com). I have cleared my cache and closed my browsers a dozen times. Maybe next step is to just reboot my PC.

And I want to bring this up once more... months ago Toni said they created bloog.com in support of the new site. So why is the new site using bloogplanet still?

OK, sorry -- I've never seen a Trifecta and that's what it is now that I can see a picture of one. Weird choice to photoshop in since most people don't use one.

It's more of cross between a trifecta and a mini.
The trifecta is longer (it's huge) and doesn't have a "normal" ash cap.

I'm sorry I was hoping that might work for you. Sorry it didn't Frick.

Got the site up now, thanks. I believe it was a DNS propagation issue

What is the price of the batteries? Is $15.99 correct? Why are 78mm batteries shown in stock when Red said they definitely don't have any?

I can add a 102mm battery to my cart, and it shows $15.99 in the cart. Are you really selling 102mm batteries for $16? I think I should order several right now... Every battery is the same price, even when I change it and update the cart.

I have to agree on the huge flash thing on the front page. I really thought e-cigarette vendors were getting away from this type of imagery, and more into professional, clean designs, but that's 'merely' an opinion.

Star, I'm not sure, but I think the personal affiliate codes are only valid on your own Bloog account, so no one else can use it.
