Thoughts on the Aerotank Mega & a couple questions

I got my Kanger Aerotank Mega in the mail today. Considering the last clearo I used was a vivi nova 2.5, this thing is a masterpiece! Great amounts of vapor and flavor.

I also got in the mail today my first bottle of Boba's Bounty. I've never used a pure VG liquid before (correct me if I'm wrong about it being 100% VG). This stuff is THICK lol. But I'm in complete agreement with many others that it's delicious. I just ordered a small bottle to try so after I post this I'm heading back over to alien visions and buy a big bottle.

I do have a couple questions/concerns about the Aerotank Mega. First is the airflow control. I've already toyed with it enough to find the sweet spot, so to speak. But it's design pretty much guarantees I'll be readjusting it everytime I tank the tank off one of my mods. Not a big deal, just something that crossed my mind.

My other problem, I'm wondering if I simply didn't fill it properly or if this is just how it's supposed to be. I filled the glass tank completely with the base unscrewed from it, putting the nozzle of my liquid bottle down into one of the four holes it has. After it was full, I screwed the base with the atomizer head back onto it, and when I turned it right side up, half the liquid drained down into the base (as I'm sure it's supposed to considering it's been working flawlessly). My question is, is there any way to fill the entire tank up and utilize it? Or can you only fill it like I did, leaving a half empty tank when you've topped it off, put the base back on , and turned it back upright?

I'm curious about this tank. I haven't used clearos in a long while but really like what I've been reading about this one. I may get one if this thing seems to be worth it.

I'm loving mine. I just wish I knew if I was actually filling it completely or not. And I'd like to be able to utilize all the tank space there is, rather than filling the tank and then half of it going into the base.

Other than that, I'm blowing thick clouds of delicious vapor. My only concern is that I just got it today and I'm curious how long the heads will last for me.

That's normal behavior. I'm pretty sure that the next incarnation of this tank will have top filling capabilities (hopefully like the Erlkönigin).

You are filling it correctly. Because of the design there is no way to fill it any fuller.

Thank you Susan. Before I got back on the forums on my phone I watched the Riptrippers and Busardo reviews of each, and they both seemed to prefer the nautilus so I went ahead and purchased one as well.

I'm really not fond of the way you adjust airflow on the Aerotank ... Constant adjustment it seems. And even though all I have to do to see how much liquid I have left is turn it upside down, I'm not fond of that either despite how little trouble it is.

When I get my nautilus in I'll probably come back and write my personal opinions of the two side by side, but I'm already enjoying several concepts of the nautilus I've seen. First is the locking airflow that gives (I believe) 4 options rather than a never ending twisting on the Aerotank. Next is the capacity of the nautilus, and last would be the fact that it doesn't have this behavior of appearing half full on an actually full tank. I'll just have to wait and see.

You have to put a cotton swab in the air tube, that will allow you to fill it all the way. Someone here suggested that and it works.

I'd like to see a mini-tutorial of that. I can visualize pushing a cotton bud up through the drip tip hole until it just protrudes from the other end by the filling holes, then filling the tank right to the very top, covering the cotton bud. What I can't see in my mind is being able to then fit the head back on, pushing the cotton bud back down the hole, without getting varying amounts of liquid exiting through the drip tip hole.

As for the airflow control ring, I can honestly say I have never had an issue with the ring moving by itself on any of my three Mega's.

I think the sooner Mr and Mrs Kanger fit a filling hole next to the drip tip the better. Well worth another $5 on the cost I would say.

You got it, and you would be using the coil stem to push it back down as you screw it back together. Then pull the swab out.

I don't fill it to the very top but it is close.

I have the "Mega Style Kit" from FastTech and my air ring doesn't move much either (a good thing!). Maybe over time it will?

Thanks for the info Nick. I'm about to try this method right now actually seeing as I need a refill lol.

My airflow control doesn't twist easily. There's enough resistance to keep it in place once it's on my mod. It's simply that taking it off my mod, taking it apart to fill it, and then putting everything back together gets it out of place.

This method works beautifully! I didn't even have any leakage from the drip tip while doing it. Definitely what I'd recommend to every Aerotank owner who has a problem with that "wasted space" issue.

That's what I did. Just got my Russian last night, threw it on my new DNA30 and now my SVD with the aerotank mega is sitting in a box.

The kayfun design is pretty fricking boss.

Dry burning the factory heads about once every three or four days will greatly extend the life.

Hmmmm.... Not the best of news about the Aerotank..lol. I'll have to see how mine behaves after a few weeks of use.

I'm planning on ordering a kayfun clone, the EHPro, in a couple of weeks myself. I've had absolutely zero luck with rebuildables in the past, but that was with a Genesis clone. I've got useless sausage fingers making building the coils and wicks very difficult for me. Someone suggested a tool called the Artistic Wire Gizmo that's available on amazon which looks like it just might be what I need to help with the coils.

Unfortunately my useless hands make it impossible for me to even rebuild the heads for tanks like the nautilus. I'm a pretty big guy all round with hands to match, and my medication makes them tremble uncontrollably to the point where working with small things like this is extremely frustrating. Out of curiosity and with the help of that tool I mentioned above, I am willing to spend the money on a clone to try out, though I could never justify MYSELF spending the $$ on an actual kayfun or Russian without even knowing if I'll be able to work with it to begin with.

What do you exactly mean by it loses it's power? Do you mean the coil? If so getting 2 weeks of vaping on a coil is pretty good in my opinion. Have you tried replacing the coil?
