After almost mugging the mailman, I got my first dripper, a Patriot, yesterday. Remember, I am a new vapor, just over two months into vaping.
This dripper arrived in a nice plastic case and included a small screwdriver and a couple extra wicks. It already had a duel coil setup. I checked the ohms and got 0.7 on my trusty craftsman multimeter. To low to fire on my Sig ZMax. Being it is a new toy, I decided to remove one coil and try it out. Checked the ohms again and got 1.4 which is what it should be.
Got out my plain VG, wet the wick with a little extra in the base, put the topper on and started to vape. What a difference! With the stock double airholes, I was producing more cloud than I ever had before. Tried to block one airhole to see the result. Did not like that. I am guessing the holes will need to be drilled once I start using double coils.
Now the taste test. Tried a juice that I think is OK but lacking in flavor a bit from my clearo's. The flavor seemed stronger but did not really change profile. Still just OK. I am sure I will be amazed when I get a double coil set up.
Strange, after dripping for an hour or so, the screw on the positive side came loose. I tried to reset the wire but being to short, was to much for me. So, my first install. The coils provided had short leads and between my old eyes and fat fingers, it was a trying task. I now know I need a magnifier hat and learned why the leads on coils are left long on all the videos I have watched.
My first dripper and I am happy. The coil calculator is bookmarked and my kanthal order is on the way. Already looking at other drippers. Now if my Squape would only get here!
