I viewed multiple video tutorials for building coils. Looks easy with this atty to install the coil. Ordered myself some Kanthal A1 in 26, 28 and 30 gauge.

I'm wondering are there specific builds that will enhance more flavor than vapor production using the 2 stock sized air holes (1.5 mm) on the V1.2?

Also what would be recommended for targeted resistance?

Looks as though this atty will produce some huge clouds. Kind of wishing that I would have gotten an RDA with AFC. Will try various size DT's to help regulate stock airflow.

Currently vaping a fresh wicked KEBO R91 at 2 ohm, 30 gauge kanthal micro, 9/10 wraps with cotton wick with added navy nest. Wicking nicely with a nice atty pop producing a slightly warm dense flavorful vapor at 6.5 watts. Using a Taifun DT. Vaping DIY sugar cookie 8 mg, dropped down from 12 mg. Thanks for the responses and recommendations.

It will... :)

I have several different RDA's - some with adjustable airflow, and others that I have drilled out. Personally, I find that the stock airholes in the Patriot are perfect. They are not too big and not too small.... I am running dual coils with 26ga Kanthal (9 wraps) which comes out to about .5 Ohms, and it is performing wonderfully. Currently vaping Honey Pearry (6mg) out of it right now.....excellent flavor and vapor production! I say leave the stock airholes the way they are. I think you'll be more than happy!

I'm vaping my Patriot right now. Best build I have produced on it is this .99ohm dual coil build. This setup is even a bit overkill but really does the job. I'm going to experiment with vertical coils on it this weekend.

30g Kanthal
7 wraps each side using a 2.4mm precision screwdriver
I use silica but cotton will be just fine

Made my first dual microcoil on my new Patriot tonight. 30 gauge kanthal, 9 wraps, with cotton wick. Came out at (0.9 ohm on Telsa wouldn't fire) put it on VTR came out at 1.0 and fired with no problem. At lower wattage was a very airy draw, hit great all the way up to 15 watts with no problem wicking. Looks like I'll be sub-ohming sooner than I thought. Received 26, 28 and more 30 gauge kanthal in the mail as well as an ohm meter. Interested in building dual vertical micro coils now. Gotta find the sweet spot.

If you're really looking to just test flavors on it, I highly suggest doing just a single coil...it's a lot easier to burn off the flavor off one coil than 2 or 4.

With mine set with two coils, I also always seem to have one dry wick and one still a little wet when burning off the flavor I just tested...and it isn't good to run one that dry when you're still trying to dry off the other one.

I'm not wanting to just test flavors on the Patriot, but using just a single coil does sound easier to change out the cotton wick for flavor testing. Wanting to try experimenting with various builds, and it seems to be a great platform for doing so. Flavor and vapor production are both fantastic with my current build at 1.04 ohm. The biggest advantage I've found with the RDA is that I don't have to drain the juice when I want to try a different build. Appreciate the pics of different builds as I'm looking forward to try out some of them.

I plan on eventually topping my nemesis clone with this device. I've got the sony vtx4 30 amp batteries and ohm meter to test resistance. Is it recommended to use a fuse with this set-up or am I safe without the fuse? I've got a kick installed presently, but I don't believe it is suitable for sub-ohm, so I will remove the kick before installing this topper.

Also just ordered a brass Stingray from FT. I need to stop spending money on equipment and concentrate on DIY juice.

Using 28 gauge Kanthal A1 now, 0.8 ohm dual coil with organic cotton wick. The patriot is working great on the stingray clone in 18650 mode using the sony vtc4 batteries (22 watts with fresh charge). Received a pyrex glass drip tip v from TheEcig that's awesome. When dripping through the tip, the airflow holes blow out small smoke rings with each drip. Keep the build pics coming!
