Ironically there was a truth ad fairly recently that "We can end tobacco use in our generation! We can do it!" It's buried now, I've posted it once before but it was super hard to find now that they have a) moved on to vaping and b) that ad actually became "Truth."
I was not a fan/kind of a fan of the truth ads, honestly. They always made me want to smoke. I think they're designed that way, honestly. Like, either all jazzy or pulsating or whatnot? (Exciting makes you want to smoke) or pics of people using their artificial voice box things (Anxiety, made me want to smoke).
I sort of thought that was their function actually: To make you want to smoke. I mean I think they are largely blood money, but I always imagine them tested on heavy smokers with access to cigarettes right in front of them, and they choose the ads where the MOST smokers light up.
LOL my favorite one was the one that was like, "Smoking will shorten the life span of your pets." I was like "TRUTH, if I don't care about shortening MY lifespan, you unsubstantiated claim about my pets will not have much impact."
Of course, I always smoked outside.
