My setup of choice involves 808 cartomizers connected to 510 power (eGo or mod) via a thread adapter (from madvapes, if I recall). One of the reasons I prefer this kind of setup is the slightly tighter, more cigarette-like, draw the adapter introduces. What I don't like about it, however, is the difficulty I often run into unscrewing the adapter from the battery end to charge the eGo battery or clean the connection on my box mod. Sometimes I have to use a pliers and other times I can get a good enough grip by wrapping a condom cap around it. Has anybody here worked out a better trick for unscrewing these adapters? Has anybody come out with one that's knurled for a better grip?

When I'm being good, I stick them in an alcohol bath (it all evaporates quickly..) then blow through them. When I'm not (i.e., usually), I just clean the gunk off the end and the threads with a tissue or paper towel. That's what made me think about it today. Earlier, my box mod had total stopped firing the cartomizer (even though the light came on) and, after checking everything else, found a pliers and unscrewed the adapter for the first time in too long. At that connection, I found quite an accumulation of liquid which turned out to be the problem. A quick wipedown and I was good to go again.

Thanks, keyzy, for the tip on Good Prophets. I have no spare adapters, and I fear one of these days I'll pitch a cartomizer without remembering to save back the adapter.
