It will have any adverse affects on battery performance or use with other carts.

I'm pretty sure that Snow meant that it will NOT have any adverse effect! I've tried this a few time and it has solved the problem on all three batteries that were giving me trouble. Be sure to blow off and/or wipe off the threads well after doing this too.

Now, if I could just figure out how to adjust the draw on my auto batteries, I might be getting somewhere. Some of them feel like trying to suck a marshmallow through a straw.

I might be able to help out on that one Griffin. Many times what happens is that the center posts get pushed down from getting screwed into the recharger to tightly. Take a paper clip or toothpick, hold the battery steady and insert the end just deep enough into the post center hole so you can apply a little leverage prying the center post up. The posts are pretty pliable, then repeat the procedure on the other side. It might just be that Carto is not making a clean connection. When this happens the battery lights up, but very little vapor is produced, causing one to feel like they are trying suck a marshmallow through a straw.

Let me know if this worked for you......If it does, just remember to screw the batts into the recharger just far enough for the recharge light to trip.

Hi Rick,

I have had similar problems with cool carts. I find it just depends on what battery your using. So if you don't feel like sanding down a cartomzier everytime you want to open a new one, just use a diff battery.

In my experience, this works. However, some cartos won't screw on to batteries whatsoever in which case I just toss them.
