Hi all. I've been lurking here for quite a while and figured it was about time to chime in. I have been a vaper for around 3 months now. I had been a smoker for around 20 years when I stumbled around the whole e-smoking concept.
I first became aware of e-cigs thanks to a banner ad for blu. This ad led me to start researching the concept, which of course led me to here. I spent that entire weekend reading these boards, using it as jumping point to a wealth of information. By Monday I had decided to give it a try. I have always been a chain smoker, even when I have cut down dramatically, the desire to be constantly smoking was always there. I wound up ordering a 510 kit from nhaler along with some HV juice.
The day I received the kit was the last day I have been satisfied to be a traditional smoker. From that day it was around 2 months later that I decided to try an analog cig. The first thing I noticed was the lack of vapor lol. In that 2 months analog free I thought I was trying to emulate the experience of smoking a cigarette. It turns out my experience with the 510 was much more satisfying to me than any cigarette could be.
The longest time prior to this that I had been tobacco free was a three month span. Eventually I went back to smoking as I had every other time I had "quit." Each time I had quit it was horrible. Withdrawal symptoms were debilitating to me for at least 3 days each time I tried. When I quit analogs using the 510 there were still some mild withdrawal symptoms, but nothing like it had been previously. When I was an analog smoker I would have severe withdrawal within around 24 hours of my last smoke. I noticed I was able to go 24 hours without vaping with no withdrawal at all. It seems the majority of my withdrawal was tied to another chemical in tobacco, or a combination of chemicals working in concert with the nicotine.
To me the only disadvantages I have found have to do with the technology of vaping itself. Atomizers that will work for several weeks, or not at all, batteries that don't last nearly long enough or put out enough peak voltage to be satisfying for any amount of time, cart filling, and leaking. The technology just isn't as "plug and play" as a cigarette. That being said, compared to the juice I am vaping, cigarettes taste absolutely awful, harsh and a pitiful amount of smoke to show for it.
It's now been around three months since I started vaping. I drip on a HV mod (which I got just last week), not bothering with oem batteries or carts unless going out. The ritual of smoking is still there, the taste is better than it has ever been. I don't stink anymore, neither does my car.
I must thank everyone who made this board possible; owners, moderators, contributors, vendors... I hope this forum can remain a place to find honest info for all those who need it.
