Here is a picture of the mods I did this last week I don't think any of
them took me more than 45 minutes to put together. On the left is my 10 dollar chuck, I put this one together with a cheap flashlight a radio shack switch, a scavenged 510 battery connector and last but not least a little "Billy Mayes" wonder putty. That one takes a 18650 or two 16340 ultrafire protected batteries. The one on the upper right takes 3 off the shelf nimh AA rechargeables and the lower right is the standard nico stick with one 14500 ultrafire protected.

Great looking mods. I have yet to make a mod for myself. I have alot of NiMH batteries so how does the NiMH battery compare to the Li-ion.

The NIMH batteries work out well but it takes three of the AA batteries to get
it up to enough voltage. I get a little less vape time out of one 15400 as I do out of the three NIMH, the NIMH bats run me a good 14 hrs I get about 9 out of a 15400. But when you need to get batteries quick it is nice to have a mod capable of running standard off the shelf batteries.

Those are nice mods punkman, but you can't just throw the name "Chuck" on anything cylindrical with a battery.

A Chuck is a one of a kind. There is only one man that makes them (Jeff) and they are unmatched in quality and performance.

Do this, take your 'chuck' outside and drop it off the roof. Then run it over with your car. Does it still vape? No? It's not a Chuck.

If it does, great, but it's still not a Chuck till it's solid copper with a bada$$ graphic and a powder coat finish on it... Oh yeah, and a warranty that I dare anyone to try to match. ;)

My Little Chuck actually has clearcoat rather than powdercoat because of the graphics I chose, but it's STILL a genu-wine Chuck, and I'm glad I have it - as well as my full-size Chuck.

I don't have the knowledge to do any mods myself, and so far the Chuck is the only mod I have purchased. I'm curious about other mods, but I'm more likely to order a third Chuck before I get a different mod. Both my Chucks definitely meet my needs, but there are so many designs that I see and wish I had :D ! The flavor is outstanding, I get a lot more vapor, and while I can choose to let the vapor get very hot, my own preference is to keep the temp down, and I can do that at either 3.7v or 6v.

People tell me things like it is the copper body/brass caps that make it so special - since I can't compare it to other mods, I just have to accept this on faith.

Hey Punkman, Call it whatever you want to call it. Its your mod, you made it and you can call it whatever you please.

But, since all you see is people telling everyone to get a chuck that asks for advice here, I'm sure you'll get plenty of people giving you crap about the name you chose to call it!!
(Just my observations)

I do agree that the chuck is a nice mod and the fact everyone is different is very appealing, (and Yes, I have one too!) but I have seen way to many people told they need a chuck whenever they ask a question about a PV!
(once again , my observations)

No. Why would you think different?
as far as the copper and brass, the only part of that is touching the neg end of the batt, the other end is still fed after the switch to the atty connector, to say the chuck gives out a better vape because of that is as ridiculous as saying it's a smoke cessation device. I'm glad y'all like your chucks, but cut the bs, it hits the exact same as any other device using identical batteries.
Yet another thread turned into a chuck pumpathon.

How do you think the neg side of the battery is fed up to the atty? The outside of the body is the ground. Since there is less resistance, yes it will work better than a mod that uses different materials. It is simple really. Since the other mods use a higher resistance material, there will be less voltage at the atty. Plain as that. To put it is simpler terms, it has a better ground than other mods that do not use copper and brass. Resistance needs to be low on the pos AND the neg side.
