Celebrating 3 years smoke-free! A special thanks to Hon Lik and all of the innovators who followed his lead and created millions of FORMER smokers since 2003. As a special walk down memory lane, I'm posting my first tobacco harm reduction article (although, I didn't know that was what it was at the time, but now I've been a part of CASAA nearly as long as I have been vaping!)

My first article: Negative Reactions Mystify Electronic Cigarette Owners - Yahoo! Voices - voices.yahoo.com

I must admit, I'm not much of a hobbyist anymore, although in my earlier days at ECF I dabbled in cartridge filler mods and came up with (what I still think) was a damn good filler mod! As far as devices, I started, like so many of us, with an overpriced cigarette wannabe, moved to a black 510 with a filler mod, then an eGo with a 510 atty w/ a drip tip and now I use an eGo VariVolt with an LR510 and a drip tip. And I've been vaping the same liquid from Nhaler for almost the whole time (although I went from Peach to French Vanilla the first year and have used Mochaccino pretty exclusively for the past two years.) I guess I'm either pretty easy to please or have just been too busy to mess with what works, lol!

So, to the ANTZ who say there is "no evidence" that e-cigs help people quit smoking and that they will get people sick from "toxic chemicals", I still say, "Thhhhpppttt!" :vapor::D

Congrats!! I've been smoke-free for 3+ years thanks to vaping. Doesn't it feel awesome?

I'm the guy that originally came up with the "Lipton Pyramid Teabag mod" for cartridges back in the day :p http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/puresmoker/16490-prodigy-v1-video-3.html#post268180

I no longer dabble in cartridge filler mods (and no longer use a "old school" Joye 510), lol. I use a plain old eGo battery or my Chrome Lavatube clone, a simple carto tank with Boge 2.0ohm cartos. I'm about to try the new Vivi Nova tanks though... Like you, I'm generally easy to please though I vape all kinds of liquids these days and have long since, moved from the so-called tobacco flavors, and now vape flavors that sound like they come from a bakery, fruit stand or candy store.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone! Honestly, I don't feel like I deserve any congrats - the e-cigs do!

Like many vapers, I wasn't even trying to quit. I loved smoking, but knew I should quit if I wanted to see my youngest child grow up. Plus that same child, our "surprise baby," was quite a strain on the budget, so I needed to save money. So, quitting wasn't like a personal goal or anything - but that's what makes e-cigarettes so AWESOME and why I keep fighting for them and other smoke-free alternatives! YAY to e-cigs creating more and more "accidental quitters!!" :)

Congrats Kristin, I am right behind you, I am cumming up on 2 years smoke free (October 31) after smoking analogs for 50 years and trying everything out there to quit. Pills, patches, gum, acupuncture and hypnoses. It took me about 3 months of e-cigs but than I put the analogs down and never looked back. I owe a lot to ECF and all the great people here for everything I learned and am still learning.

So Calif
Congrats Kristin, a worthy milestone ;) Like you I loved smoking, smoked for 55 years. One day I totaled up how much I was spending on 2 cartons a week, how much of that was various taxes, Fed excise, State excise, Sales Tax, and I got MAD. I started looking for e cig info on the web. Had heard about them but not paid much attention to them.

Read a lot, watched some vids, bought an Ego T kit and was off and running. I'll be a year and a half later this month and there is no turning back, ever. Still use a couple of Ego C's when out and needing to be inconspicuous, but my at home stuff is all VV big battery stuff now. Have learned to DIY in self defense.

I'm a CASAA financial supporter, not much but every month, I come to the meetings and I write letters, emails and make phone calls as needed. I participate in the ECF to the best of my ability and understanding. I so much appreciate what I have learned and gained from e cigs I want to make sure everyone has a CHOICE and no one to say they can't have e cigs if they want them.

People like you energize the rest of us and we are so much better off with your at our backs ;)
