Throat hit?

A lot of people seem obssessed with finding an eliquid with an amazing throat hit capability. What does this throat hit feel like and why is it so appealing?

To me it mimics a cig when you inhale. That's also what makes it appealing, that little "bite" you get in your throat when you take a drag off a cig. A very slight harshness? If you smoke than you know what I'm talking about. It's kinda hard to describe actually. Maybe someone will come along and do a better job than me.

For me the throat hit makes it feel more like smoking. I can tell I'm inhaling vapor. Without a throat hit it feels like I'm simply inhaling air. The first time I vaped 24mg 100% PG e-juice, the throat hit made me cough.

To me the throat his is appealing because its intensity gives me a feeling as to how big of a drag I just took; big drags=harsher hits. It provides a level of instant sensory stimulation.
Also, throat hit can vary with actual equipment as well as certain liquids. Some attys give next to no throat hit, so I've heard.

The TH is most important to me. Makes me brain fake the analog funk and calm me down as if I just had a PM death stick. My kr808 has a good TH on any 18mg PG cart/juice and higher. 11 is meh and everything under it is blah

Depending on the juice and mg of the juice to me it is almost like a pepper sensation..I am not so much into TH now. I am more into the flavor.

throat hit is why i couldnt use zero nicotine liquid. there was no throat hit.. it felt like i was just inhaling air.

throat hit makes me feel like i am smoking.

I think I'm odd, because after 45 years of smoking I should know...but I don't. Maybe because the cigarettes I smoked (MB reds and greens...switch hitter) never gave me any th...and I literally sucked those buggers down to the filter. In vaping, a smooth inhale (soft th) and massive clouds of vapor on the exhale is what satisfies me...vapor is where it's at for me.

So the "obssession" with th is still a mystery to me.
