it affects it allot, pg, pga, voltage, resistance all play a role in it to though... but i mixed some liquid when i first got my diy supplies, waited to taste test before i added the nic and it had no throat hit. added the nic and it was way better
:) should add it was give or take 70/30 or 60/40 pg/vg till i added the nic, which did bump up the pg level to probably 75 or 80% ( i dont know for sure i was inpatient and excited so i didn't measure anything) but it made a huuuge difference, more then i've experienced vaping 70% pg to 100% pg at the same nic level.. if that makes sense

Nicotine is the TH

Heat can enhance TH (you can get heat on 450mah+ fat battery models and mods by using LR parts)
But heat cannot create TH out of nothing

PG lets through more of nicotine's TH than VG does
PG alone has no TH

Some flavors have a it of their own throat sensation (mint, menthol, cinnamon, ginger, pepper, other spices, etc)
