Let's start off by saying that I have an iTaste VV V3 with an Aero tank.

Running at 3.6 volts and whenever I take a puff right into my lungs it makes my throat dry and irritates it.

Liquid is running at VG/PG 70/30

I've tried my friends liquid VG/PG 60/40 without any nicotine, as well, and made sure that before I started my tank as at least half full.

Nicotine is at 12 MG for mine.

Tried my friends iClear 30 tank, problem still persists.

Tried my Aero Tank on his ego, problem does not happen anymore.

Lowered volts to as low as I can to 3.3 volts and problem still persists.

Honestly, I feel like as if I'm just not used to it but whenever I drink some water, the feeling goes away but I'm not
really looking forward to sipping down water ever 5 puffs...

HI and welcome to ECF. Sorry that you are experiencing dry throat and throat irritation. What was said about water is really important. Also, I noticed you said you "puff right into my lungs" so are you doing a direct inhale into your lungs? If so, people suggested to me that I draw slowly into my mouth and hold it a few seconds, then inhale. You may be doing that already, but if not, it may be worth trying. I use a 50/50 mix for PG/VG, but have heard that less PG is easier on some people's throats.

Not sure what the answer will be for you. Everyone's experience is a bit different. I am sure that folks here with more experience than I have will be more helpful. I hope you find something that really works for you. Namaste.

+1 on that. PG sensitivity seems to be common. you can also try Johnson Creek's Red Oak Domestic (the red oak line replaces PG with distilled water I think, either way it PG free), it's one of the more popular ones. alternatively you can also order PG free from Mt. Baker, with the option to replace with water, however I have yet to try that option (I do vape the Johnson creek red oak, and use low pg from Mt. Baker); these are just examples there are many good vendors who offer similar options. There is also the VG + Alcohol option but I have had some issues with those with a specific manufacturer, and have not tried it again with another one.

Because Vegetable Glycerin (VG) is highly viscos, it has to be diluted;' hence the water or PG and in some cases alcohol (small amounts, which you will get rid of by steeping).

Either way, as bad as this is, it beats cancer, I think you should stick to it and try different options - I promise you, everyone finds their vape.
Same kind of stuff happens to me with juice with any PG and my throught will almost swell shut. That might not be your problem bit try some 100% VG juice I recommend Boba's Bounty from AVE good luck I hope u can figure it out

I am curious - what got you to start vaping if you never smoked analogs?? No disrespect intended....just a curiousity question. Are you using 0 mg nicotine??

For me, I smoked since 1977 at 1.5 to 2 packs a day (depended on my anxiety levels or stress levels) and vaping has been a godsend to wean myself off nicotine. Please do not vape with nicotine!!!

Really?
People (not referring to the OP) in general vape because nicotine is effective for attention disorder and has less side effects than any antidepressant, and because vaping lets you enjoy the aroma without getting fat. oh yeh, its also great for quitting smoking :)

Back to the original question - as mentioned earlier I would set your vv to wattage mode and find the best wattage for flavor for you (mine is 7.5 watts) with that being said dual coil and dual coil with afc (air flow control) are much more efficient vaping devices and will give you much more throat hit (which would not be a requirement for you seeing as you never smoked before) you also do not need to draw vapor all the way into your lungs either as most of the nic absorbtion happens in the mouth and mucous membrane.

Just my 2 cents

You mean rather than absorbing through your lungs (as a cigarette), absorb through your mouth (like a cigar). Someone might misinterpret your statement as "nicotine is better absorbed through the mouth than the lungs", which is a baseless statement (A. Not enough research B. The lungs are PUMPED with blood and have an enormous surface ratio C. Analogs are better absorbed in the lungs D. Any smoker knows its the fact, which although does not prove the generalization that lungs absorb better, certainly rebuts mouth absorbs better than lungs ).

You are comparing smoking apples to vaping avocados. Vapor is not smoke. On a molecular level it is very different. Trying to get your lungs to absorb much of anything from vaping is like trying to ram a mack truck through a mouse hole.

I'm a new vaper (<--right click, add to dictionary :D) and have been having some throat problems as well. In my case the juice is 80% PG and almost impossible for me to get down. I have another juice that's 65% PG and it's doable, but still uncomfortable. I've concluded that I don't tolerate PG very well and I would suggest you might have the same problem, but you say you have no problems vaping your juice in your tank on your friend's ego. That's pretty puzzling to me... can anyone weigh in on why that might be?

And if I may sneak in some barely on topic noob questions...
My next order from Mt. Baker will probably be either 70% VG / 30% H20 or "Max VG". Is Max VG 100%? Is there some downside to having H20 in your juice? Does it dilute the flavor or thin out the clouds? What kind of atomizer is advisable for vaping 100% VG? I'm using an iclear 30.
