I am going to order the AltSmoke BB soon, and I saw GrimmGreen's video review on YouTube saying that you can only get a good throat hit on the BB with a high nicotine liquid as it's only 3.7v. I was originally planning on purchasing Tasty Vapor's 0-Nicotine liquid for mixing, and they say it vapes well by itself. I'm interested in losing the nicotine addiction altogether. I am currently using 18mg from VaporKings with a Joye 510, and the throat hit is great. But is this in large part due to the nicotine? Flavor isn't a factor for me (thought the tobacco flavor was originally terrible, but got used to it), and I'm sure the BB will produce enough vapor to satisfy. I'm just worried that a 0-Nicotine liquid won't have a good enough throat hit, if any.

Tasty Vapor also has a 12mg liquid, and I may consider that as well. But going back to GrimmGreen's review, that may also not have a great throat hit.

I'm relatively new to all of this, by the way. Just got the Joye 510 a few days ago, but I'm already looking for a better product. All the reviews for the BB I've read have been astounding.

I'm not familiar with GrimmGreen's review and what exactly he said about throat hit - and I have no beef with him - I enjoy the videos I've seen. So I'll just give you my own experience. First not all 3.7V ecigs are alike - Some oem batts listed as 3.7v operate closer to 3.0-3.2v and some mods are at 3.7V and hold that peak for quite a while, initially they might be close to 4.2V. And it isn't just voltage that determines the 'heat' - amperage - it's the ohm rating of attys to where a Joye 510 atty 2.2 ohms running on the same mod battery as a 901 with a 3.5 ohm rating, the 510 will run hotter and heat is a factor, along with nicotine on throat hit.

So I wouldn't say that 3.7V - esp. one with a 14500 battery won't produce a throat hit - it will, and with a 510 atty produce a pretty good one even at 12mg. But... not as great as one with 36mg nic.

At 0mg nic you are not going to get the 'standard nicotine throat hit'... d'uh. lol. But you can simulate the tickle, irritation with certain things - cutting your ejuice with PGA (esp. high proof like 151 or greater) and flavoring - curry, pepper, cinnamon, ginger and almost any food product or flavoring that might 'distrub' the mucous membranes of the throat.

So, if you're going to be vaping 0 mg nic ejuice, and you still want a throat hit, I wouldn't concern youself so much on what voltage a mod is going to give you, but rather on what flavoring you use in order to simulate the thoat hit. Sure, higher voltage may also aid in the simulation but the flavor itself will be more primary.
