So, I made some juice. After long thought I figured I'd try about 7 different mixtures. With each mixture I made three strengths of that mixture so I've ended up with 21 small 3ml samples. One under the recommended starting %. One about right on and the other slightly over. I think I may have found the sweet spot on all but one of the seven. Matter fact the 7th flavor had Cubano in it and for some reason that cigar flavor tasted like crap and I used to love regular cigars.

So here's my question. I have three 3ml samples of the same mixtures. Can I throw them all together? I've narrowed down and recorded my %'s for the larger batch I'll make later. Thought throwing them together would be okay but not sure...would that jack up the nic levels? I dunno... I think maybe I'm making this way bigger than what it is so I thought I'd bounce it off you vets for some help.

This certainly has been a learning curve. There's some great information here but sorting it all out gets a bit overwhelming at times. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

As far as willy nilly throwing different flavor profiles together I wouldn't recommend that but if you think mixtures would go good together that's perfectly fine. Test samples that are the same but different flavor concentrations can be combined but again use your best judgement. If you made them all using the same NIC strength combining will not effect final nic strength. If there different strengths then it will be the average of all strengths combined.

for instance

12mg
+6mg
+3mg

would equal 7.62mg provided there all the same size (ML's) and PG/VG concentration.

Here's some recommend reading to help you along in all aspects of DYI.

My blogs will give insight into all aspects of DYI, from steeping to what supplies to have on hand to a basic walk through mixing your first E-juice.

Then read hoosier's blogs. These blogs concentrate on fine tuning your mix and give insight on additives.

Then read Boletus's blog's. These blogs concentrate on formulation of nicotine baces regarding proper calculations methods for figuring Nicotine concentration as well as safety.

Then read Ginger's book "E-Cigarettes 102: DIY E-Liquid". It is a book which I've contributed to that delivers an in depth easy to follow guide in the art of DYI.

I recommend viewing VPLive Vape Team Episode #82: DIY Safety and bookmark it for future reference. It explains safety in all aspects of DYI.

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Some excellent info there and thank you. I have a few of those bookmarked already but most of them I don't. As far as mixing everything together. Maybe I didn't say that right the first time. If I have 3 samples of the same thing. 2 I don't care for and the other is good. I want to combine the 2 and maybe add more pg/vg to thin it out a little. I didn't mean to come across as mixing the whole lot together...lol. I just don't want to throw away something I may be able to save and use at a later date if needed. AS IF I will EVER run out of ejuice....lol

Thank you for your links and stopping by my thread.

A lot of people have a dump bottle. You just continually dump in whatever odds and ends you have left. Sometimes the mix is only good for when you have vaper's tongue, and really don't care how it would taste. Other times you end up with something surprisingly good. Right now, my dump bottle is good-- I think it was the orange. :p:thumbs:

Thought throwing them together would be okay but not sure...would that jack up the nic levels?

Let's think about it for a minute. If you take a batch of juice at, say, 12mg/ml, and pour half of it out on the floor, what's the strength of the remaining juice? It's still 12mg/ml, right? Now what if, instead of dumping it on the floor, you poured it out into two smaller bottles. Still both 12mg/ml, yes?

So now you have two small bottles of liquid at 12mg/ml. What happens when you pour them back into the large bottle? Did we just find a way to magically double the nic strength of a liquid just by pouring it into two smaller bottles and then back again? Or is it still the same 12mg/ml, overall?

Now finally, what if those two smaller bottles had never shared the same big bottle. Would the result be any different, or would it still just result in a big bottle of 12mg/ml when you mix them together? (Hint: it's the same.)

Presuming your three different mixes all have the same nic level, then mixing them together won't change that at all. The strength of the final mix is going to be the average (weighted by how much you use of each) of the strengths of all the liquids you mixed together. But if those strengths are all the same to begin with, then the average is going to be the same, also:

(12+12+12)/3 = 12

Even if you're using different amounts of each one, it's going to be the same in the end:

((12mg/ml*1ml)+(12mg/ml*2ml)+(12mg/ml*3ml))/(1ml+2ml+3ml) = (12mg+24mg+36mg)/6ml
[...] = 72mg / 6ml
[...] = 12mg/ml

If the only difference between the liquids is the flavor percentages, then only the flavor percentages will be affected when you mix them together. They'll all average out somewhere near the middle, so presuming that the flavors as they are now are "too light," "too strong," and "just right," then mixing them all together seems like a good call.
