RDA Tidal wire

So I recently purchased 32 gauge kanthal and kanthal ribbon to make tidal wire, something I saw in a video. The end product came out really nice, just like the video. The problem came after I got the coils in and it tasted slightly metallic. I tried a few rips to see if it went away but it didn't. I took the coils out and put regular 26 gauge coils in and the taste is still there in the RDA. It is a copper freak show. Is the taste in the RDA from the coils or is it something from the copper in the RDA? The wire is a little time consuming and I'm reluctant to try again if it results in bad tasting coils. Thanks for any assistance.

Is this a NEW atty? Did you wash it before using? Did you dry burn the coils before use? What ohm rate, wattgae and wick are you using? I guess it could be from the copper, IDK, never used a copper atty.
