Just got a couple Smoketech "Ego" Dual Coil tanks in today, no problem filling, using, but I do have a question about tightening it. HOW? lol, the tank floats on the "ego" cover. the cart is 510 threaded, and as far as I can tell, the only thing "ego" about it is the cover. so how do you get a good tightening fit on your battery? the only thing I could do is put some pressure "down" on the drip tip, but it floats too. any learning curve advice would be greatly appreciated. as always, thanks.

This tank? Comes in several colors. I have two of them.
eGo 510 Dual Coil Tank Cartomizer, 2.5ml, Blue

Leave them in the all the way down position so that on the top where your drip tip is, you have metal showing from the cart. Put the battery on the connection at the base. You'll get a couple of turns to start it. Then hold that metal where the drip tip inserts at the top and tighten it. Maybe someone else has a different way, but this works for me. Be sure and prime those carto's in it with at least 20 drops of liquid and be careful not to get any in the center hole.:)

A couple more tips.

Always pick up your vaporizer by the battery end, not the tank. Smoktech DCT tanks are notorious for their loose fit on a carto (just watch PBusardo's review of these tanks and watch his reaction when he pulls on the tank) and picking one up by the tank could result in the tank sliding off of the carto with the carto remaining on the vaporizer, resulting in a tankfull of juice being lost and wasted.

When filling a carto, place a wood toothpick into the center air hole to avoid unwanted liquid getting into the hole.

If you have the slap yo mama tank tool, or any drip tip that's skinny enough to fit inside the tank, you can do what I sometimes do:

Push the tank up like if you were going to fill it, this will expose the base of the carto. Push the tank up enough so that you can get a grip on the base of the carto with your fingers, and tighten it down that way. The tank tool simply allows you to push the tank up further without juice spilling down inside the carto.

got it guys. Constance, yes that's the tank. Bad attitude, got it. didn't watch the video, but can assume he was like me today with some expletives not deleted. This thing is not a travelling friendly gig. That's unfortunate too, I really like the flavor and vapor production. As soon as I got them today, I emailed my supplier, asked what the deal was, leaks, won't tighten. They emailed back, "unfortunately this is the nature of these tanks". I was ticked off pretty good, considering that it was my fault for buying them to begin with, buyer beware, due diligence and all that. I emailed them back, would be VERY helpful if you put the "unfortunate" statement in the description, instead of an email to me after I bought them. To the suppliers great credit, they suggested a "newer" locking version from the same manufacturer, sending one on the house. This supplier unlike many others out there, is wisely more interested in a long term customer than a short term sale. So here we go again, would be great if this newer version fixes the former's flaws. Thanks again guys, cheers.

I just buy the regular smoktech carto/tanks with the plain 510 connection. Easy to screw on and off your ego. If you are worried about aesthetics of the ego threads and connection showing, you can always buy one of those collars to screw on to cover up the ego threads.

it wasn't the aesthetics, I actually thought it was ego threaded, like the CE4's are. there are two 510 versions at the site, and one that says "ego". so, silly me, I thought that the designation "ego" meant that it was threaded for an ego. lol. in retrospect, maybe it should say "510 connected cart, with an un-threaded ego cover".

Glad you got it but as time has gone on I always fill them on the battery. Most people will scream..noooooooo don't do that, but they aren't as prone to leak that way unless you get juice down the center tube....then they flood like no tomorrow. :/ But they are great on flavor and vapor production and most juice tastes great in them. I also have the 510 DC Tanks.

makes sense filling them on the battery once you get it on. you know, this thing has great flavor and produces good vapor, although the draw is a little too airy. the leaking, non tightening thing is a draw back though. I can see this guy is meant to use at home, not a travel companion at all. I let the vendor that I got these from know I was disappointed in them, they are sending me a Smoktech 510 UDCT Locking 5ml Dual Coil Tank (UDCT) to try. Looks like a little better set up with the locking cart. we'll see. thank you for the advice, always appreciated.
