As you may know, thanks to Philip Morris and their wonderful tobacco bill, and in conjunction with the tobacco Free Suckers (kids), they are leading the way to create a tobacco Free society at the expense and sacrifice of millions of American smokers. Their bill, the Marlboro Monopoly Act, empowers the FDA to control the content of cigarettes, reduce nicotine, and ban far safer methods of nicotine delivery.

Well, as it turns out, Philip Morris is known as Altira Group, Inc, which is owner of Kraft products. As a "thank you" to PM giving itself a wonderful spot in the tobacco industry, and will be responsible for millions of deaths, I suggest we, as concerned ex smokers, not only boycott your killer tobacco products, but also the following Kraft brand products as well:

The boycott also includes products made by GENERAL FOODS and NABISCO, also aquired by those murders of Altira.

The only thing that will kill me is the fact that I like A1 Steak Sauce and Tomato and Basil Wheat Thins. But I can live without them. I for one will be looking at the label going forward and if I see anything even remotely Kraft like, back on the shelf it goes.

BigJimw, everyone will lose weight, that is all the snack foods, also, high salt foods. this could be good for you. Great Idea.

If they don't get ya with the tobacco, they get you with the junk foods. :D

I never buy brand names anyways. I always get the store brands. Cheaper and sometimes the quality is better. I usually get the Stop and Shop brand steak sauce, as an example, because it's so much better and cheaper.

We have some store brand down here, but don't know who makes them. May want to check who owns the off brand stuff.

I find that some off brand stuff is just as good as the Branded stuff. I never see any reason to pay more for the same or better quality just for a brand name.

I better not ever forget my lunch for work again. I might faint trying to find something in the corporate ... convenience store I work for. I can see it now... "Hey boss lady! It's against *hic* my religion *hic* to eat any of this crap... ugh... So I drank one of the convenient 30 packs of beer we carry! ...umm... Sorry and stuff."

I don't think I would have much of an impact on a boycott. The only item in that list that I purchase regularly is Claussen Pickles. I might have bought Calumet Baking Powder at one time, but as memory serves, I'm more of a "Clabber Girl" girl.

Wow, Altria, et al... sure manufactures a lot of cr@ppy food... and the things that they do with "cheese" should be outlawed.

I actually googled "philip morris brands" the day that bill was passed in the senate and thought maybe there was a mistake when I saw all the food products! Now I know it's right, there won't be any of their products in my cart tomorrow when I go shopping.

Glad only Starbucks grocery store items are on the list...I'm a major Starbucks freak and only get my coffee at a Starbucks store itself. There's nothing on that list that can't be replaced by another brand or product, so it won't be a problem here to avoid all PM products. The hubby may be a little upset over the Cheese Nips though ;)

I already Boycott brand names, most all of them. It's not on purpose. But don't fool yourself, the off or "store" brands are made by the same manufacturers. We buy only staple foods, our own meat from local sources, Dean's milk, Gold medal flour, Folger's coffee, etc. A-1 would be hard to leave alone but there are others out there just as good. Crystal Light off-brands very common, the one I buy is Food Club, so you don't really know who makes them, the price is generally lower but it's the same ingredients. If you look at labels you see that a lot of these things are made in Mexico, etc......My treat to myself when I go for groceries once a month is to bring home a DiGorno Pizza, the Three Meat one! (made by Kraft!) And a case of Pepsi.

Phillip Morris has already gone off to bed with their favorite legislators, and probably CIC also. These guys aren't gonna take any hurt. Your State should already have age specific laws to cover "children" buying cigarettes, Wisconsin has this covered, for what it's worth, but you don't see many people going to jail for selling them to anyone! This whole thing is just a smoke and mirror campaign with a pony show thrown in for good measure. How many Billions of dollars is going to be flying throught the system because of this is indeterminate. Do people realize this is a huge intertwined effort so expertly woven that it would take more time to straighten out than the Enron affair with GE thrown in!! Who profited from that fiasco? NOT the folks who lost everything. We are living in a time when we try to think for ourselves, but our choices are limited to something that is already in the "system". We don't even realize we're being swindled for every cent we'll ever make and then some. Every product in our markets today except for the local "farmer's" markets are manipulated and every organized entity already has their cut out of the profit before it hits the store. Yes, Unions included in this swindle, hate to say that but it is the truth of it.
Now, on to health care, folks. Hang onto your thermometer.

BigJim has the right idea. In another thread I'd already suggested boycotting PM tobacco products which are much easier to identify than other products marketed under the Philip Morris name of Altria. Philip Morris USA brands include Marlboro, Virginia Slims, Merit, Parliament, Alpine, Basic, Cambridge, Bristol, Bucks, Chesterfield, Collector's Choice, Commander, English Ovals, Lark, L&M, Benson & Hedges, Players and Saratoga.

To be supportive of a boycotting effort, those of you who vape yet still smoke analogs should stop buying cigarettes from the above list no matter how much you enjoy them. The choices that are left like Camel, Pall Mall, Winston, Salem, Doral, Kool, Misty, Capri, and others marketed by R.J. Reynolds or competing tobacco marketers might not appeal to you as much, but smoking a less desirable product could hasten your complete switch away from tobacco cigarettes.
