what? first time hearing about this. i dont have a wall adapter atm

That's the first time I've ever heard that as well- just thinking about it for a second, there is a *remote* chance that if you did something insanely stupid- like dropping your battery, with the power button taped down in the on position, into a bucket of saltwater...or if you exposed the positive and negative leads on the usb cord and either crossed the exposed leads, or dropped them into saltwater...

...actually, now that I think about it, it would be nearly impossible to screw up your pc, unless you use faulty equipment OR your battery melts down and you don't disconnect it *at all*. Or, if you do something as insanely stupid as what I mentioned above.

I am vaping on a passthru right now on my laptop, have been doing the same for 3 years with multiple PT's and multiple PC's. I'll continue to do so unless I am missing some piece of information that I can't figure out...

You know what, THAT is what I was missing. IF you were to short out your atomizer/ tank/ coil on a TRUE usb PT, I would assume you might run the remote chance of frying the usb terminal on your pc(which should already have built-in protection against shorts, but I don't want to test that). Thanks for mentioning that...

...I stand corrected. Never use your USB PT (with no battery) to test your newest genesis builds. That would be insanely stupid.

You might be right.

I've never had a problem, but when I read about some peops on this forum that did,
I decided I couldn't afford to take the chance. I have the power supply right by my
computer, so it's stupid for me to take the chance.

Monkey, you can get an adapter if you want and plug it into an AC outlet/strip/whatever
in the same way you do the computer.

I'm glad for you that you got a passthrough without the battery. I want to get one,
probably the same one. That's because the passthrough I have with a battery has
a problem after a while. The connection gets worn because of vaping it, and it no longer
gives/gets power - one or the other, not sure which. I have to carefully hold so the
power chord doesn't jiggle and where out or where the battery connection out.

USB 2.0 data ports are rated for only 500mA. If your passthrough has an inline battery, then you are ok. The USB is only recharging the battery and not subject to the full load. If not, you are putting a good amount of stress on your computer. It's been a while since I read the USB specs, but they should be current limited, so without an inline battery, you shouldn't get much more than 500mA; aka, a weak vape.

That should do the trick. Plus, you can use sixteen PT's at once!! WOO can you imagine the vapor you would get from that??

Probably something like fog.jpg
