I do not want to sound like an <censored, I'm sure>, but if you're new to mechs, that is not the mod for you. The Timekeeper (and its brethren Able and Gyre and...) are hybrid topped mechs. As such, they require the use of an atomizer with a protruding center pin.

Next, continuing on my spree of <censored>ery, if you don't now the amp rating of your battery, you should not be messing with mechs at all. 18650 LiIon cells are almost always listed as 3.6 or 3.7 volts. The cells charge up to 4.2 volts and discharge down to around 3 volts. 3.7 is the nominal voltage. It's the amperage, however, that determines what build you can use. Knowing the amperage and the voltage, you can - using ohms law - calculate a safe resistance to use.

Put the mech back in its box, and put it on the shelf while you familiarize yourself with Ohms law, appropriate atomizers, and batteries.

Finally, a triple congratulations on picking a beautiful mech, and for coming here for advice before making what might have been a mistake, and for selecting an authentic battery (Samsung, Sony, LG, and a select couple Sanyo/Panasonic are suitable for our purposes, but there are a gazillion rewraps with false info on the wrap).

I agree.. Except its not a hybrid.
Its a direct to battery mod.
Hybrids do not have 510 threads and do not have safety issues like direct to battery mods because its impossible to use the wrong atty.
There's enough confusion already in the vape scene.

What kind of tank/RDA are you gonna use?
I have a Time Keeper in my hand right now :)
I have a Goon on mine, whichever you decide to use make sure the pin extends out enough, like this

If it doesn't extend out don't use it!

I agree... hence the phrase "hybrid topped" meaning hybrid topcap meaning threaded direct to battery connection. I own several of each...

Semantics aside, not a standard 510 and not safe in the hands of a novice.

First off I want to say I agree the timekeeper isnt a device for vapers new to mechs.
Don't be careless with your safety.

It's not "hybrid topped".
Hybrids do not have 510 threads.
Hybrids do not have "top caps"
They have dedicated atomizers.
The atomizer connects directly to the tube body.

Its not semantics.
Its incorrect terminology, and when dealing with new vapers and mechanical mods it can get you hurt.

These were originally called "faux hybrids" because they simulated the flush look of a true hybrid device.
Today, they do not look anything like hybrids.

The time keeper is a direct to battery mod and yes, they are for advanced users who know exactly what they are doing.

I vape an AV Optic daily.
Its basically a timekeeper with knurling.

These mods are not for beginners.

Please listen to the above... A Mech mod is not something you buy and then figure out....(its not like buying a Tc Mod) Ive done hours of youtube videos on ohms law & battery safety and have been on this forum asking questions and a ton of reading. I had been building on RTAs and RDAs on regulated mods for almost 2years and still had to learn everything about mechs... They are a completely different animal that you have to understand and respect or something can go wrong... It can be a lot of confusing info at first but its all necessary info.. then one day you will have that moment when it all clicks together... The most important info about a mech mod is Not necessarily how to get it to work, with blind trial and error you could be lucky... the MOST important part of using a mech mod is knowing how and why your battery could fail.... thats what will keep you safe..
