I was wondering if any members that have fully dropped analogs could give a sample timeline as to the recovery that they experienced. What I mean is how long it took for you to regain taste/smell, how long it took for your lungs to heal (getting rid of the nasty stuff in your lungs), etc.

The reason I ask is because I haven't had an analog in just over a month now and it seems as though my lungs are just now starting to hit that "wheezing" stage where it seems like they'll be healing. I've already been able to breathe much better, but I guess the hard part has just started. I also have yet to have my taste change, although I can definitely smell much better now.

I hope that future members can reference this thread so that they can know what to look forward to.

I never went through any of the hacking/coughing up of anything. I smoked since I was 10, and a pack a day since I was 14, was 25, almost 26 when I quit cigs all together. I have noticed that my lungs don't burn when I shovel snow or do anything active anymore so that's a good thing. Been cig free since June. I noticed tastes in things that I never noticed, and noticed smells I've never really been able to smell all too well. Taste and smell started coming back within a month and a half or so.

I quit June 6th of this year and have not had 1 analog since. Everyone is different when it comes to quitting. I have smoked about 13 years 2-3 packs a day before quitting (mostly non-light brand). After 3 days I regained a good sense of smell. After about 2 weeks my sense of smell came back in an even bigger way, and my taste of food improved a lot. I enjoyed both good and bad smells just because of the experience of it. After 1 month or so, didnt wake up to feeling like my lungs were a brick as much as before quitting (I really though I had/was developing emphysema before) but defidently not 100% clear. Now its been over 6 months :)) !) and I have NO urges for an analog, my lungs feel very light and can take in air unlike anything before the age of 20. I suspect that they will continue to cleanse themselves but can hardly imagine my lungs getting much better. I wish the e-cig were available MUCH sooner but nontheless, its amazing according to my experience. Hope that general timeline gives you a perspective of what to possibly expect.
