Tips and pointers for a newbe thinking about buying a mechinical mod

I would have gotten the copper for looks and conductivity.
For your tank/atomizer check forums, YouTube and merchant reviews. If you go clone, most likely your going to need to modify it to get it to work correctly. I went with a Russian 91% after trying the clone. The guy I bought the clone from bored out the air hole and post hole. The threads cross but it vapes great when I can get it together. I would advise to avoid the cloned version unless you're handy and have tools. The real Russian has it's quirks too, like a rotating positive post that can cause a short. Can't recommend either because of those issues. They are the only rebuildable tank atomizers I've used. They are great for me but I've been able to fix them. Just hit up YouTube for RTA review, rebuildable tank review or atomizer review. There are tanks with replaceable coils that you can buy buy I only have experience with kanger protanks. I didn't like them for long term. Leaky and new coils that run $1-2.50 a piece that don't always work.

you said you were not happy with vapor production and you've already put some cash out there. Been there done that many times over. Going to the nautalis is a good sure bet but you will want a device that can go up to 15 watts or more and 6 volts. You can get by with less but if you don't want to get disappointed again thats my suggestion. So that means the zmax and many other devices are out since alot of them only go up to 11 or so watts and 5 volts. The nautalis for me starts to become decent at 13 watts and up. Were all different so maybe the zmax will work for you. Just some food for thought. The Nautilus Aspire, especially with the BVC heads, is a great way to start but you can also get a great vape from less expensive things like Kanger Evod or PTM2s so don't rule those out. Either way you'll do great.
I'd suggest a Vamo V5 since you said you like the idea of being able to swap batteries on the fly. The MVP is a great device with battery built in so you don't need a charger and batteries to go with it but, if you let it run down, you'll need a back up to keep vaping while it chages.
Just more options but glad you're looking at vv/vw instead of mechs at this point, good on ya!

Not at all true. The MVP has "pass through" ability, which means you can use it while it is charging.
Right, passthrough is great if you're near a power source ;-).
All I meant was that with something like a Vamo or other regulated tube mod you have the ability to carry extra batteries but you're spot on Bad as always.
Hard to beat the MVP2 as a step up for sure.
