hmmm.. and wow. Didn't think about the heat and expansion. I haven't had one do that, so far. and the only time I received an open bottle, was months ago.. back in April maybe? Everyone has been packing very nicely. I try and tape and baggie too, will have to try leaving a bit of room.. I do live in the south, LOTs of heat here.

thanks for the heads up!

I have a tupperware container that I keep stuff to PIF/that I have PIF'ed in. I have a piece of paper taped on the lid where I write in pencil what I'm sending, who it's to, and the address. I write and erase as I go.

I use manilla envelopes, and pad them myself. I'm broke... it's cheap that way.

I save all the bubble wrap I get and reuse it. Electrical tape around the lids of juice bottles. I also tape pipettes together, to reduce the chance of them bending in transit.

I tape down both ends of the envelopes, even the end that came closed... just in case.

If it's a small PIF or swap, I will cut the envelopes I have in half so I have two little envelopes, staple them closed on the cut end, and do several layers of packaging tape over it.

I really like tape. :)

I also write my username on the back of the packages, by the flaps.

I haven't gotten all fancy with printing my own postage yet. I'm going to open a PayPal and look into that - did someone say free!?

I do have a list of incoming stuff somewhere... but I've gotten lazy about actually filling it out. It matters less to me now. This isn't like the Classifieds or something. The whole point of PIF is rather different, and while I do look forward to goodies in the mail, it's just not as important. I am more focused on restoring my karmatic balance...

So, my packages are rather ugly... but so far they seem to be gettin' there alright.

I usually make sure all is tightly closed and put in ziplock baggie sealed. Put in bubble wrap mailer and mail. I know of a new member in need that I am getting some juice together for. If yopu would like to send this to him I know he will greatly appreciate it and I will give you his address. Poor guy keeps running out of juice and ends up back on cigs til payday. I am trying to help him get some stuff together so he can give them up once and for all. just let me know and I will give you his address. Going to bed now but will check back in AM.

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
BTW, I noticed a sign at the PO that the rules are changing next month...err...tomorrow and tobacco producs, and ANYTHING that is hazardous in anyway can no longer be shipped USPS. I would imaging that would include juice, especially high nic juice. I am not looking forward to higher shipping from UPS/FEDEX etc. I know we can still "stelth" ship it, but if something happens to it in transit, well basically it sould come out badly. Like if it gets lost, or the package damaged it's gonna get tossed and the sender might even be fined. Just thought I'd put that out there. I think I'll make a second thread on the subject in the general e-juice discusions forum.

Good info.. wonder what the vendors are doing, and how it will effect our shipping costs? :p

LowThudd -- Is that different from the ruling on cigarettes and smokeless tobacco that actually went into effect on June 29? What I've heard is changing tomorrow is "Priority Mail Added as Service Option for Tobacco Shipments to APO/FPO/DPO Destinations "

Your right, I just looked it up on the USPS website. Apearantly, the poster I saw combined new hazardous materials regs and new tobacco regs on the same poster. A bit confusing. Anyway, in researching it, there are several LESS hazardous materials than high nic e-juice that are restricted, and battaries are also on the restricted list.

Let's continue this in another forum.http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/118214-new-usps-regulations.html

Every now and then, when the PO guy asks if there is anything liquid, hazardous, fragile, etc... I tell the truth "That one is full of little glass vials of hazardous liquid" or "That one is full of batteries and poison"

They always just shrug and just send it anyway with no extra fees or hassle. Once they just asked whether or not I packed it well, and THEN sent it anyway. I don't know if they think I'm kidding, or maybe they are just lazy themselves and don't care because it's a small package.

Drozd and Lox: I got one yesterday too (from someone else) that went through the sorter and had a hole.

NOTE TO ALL: if your package is thinner, make sure the items are well wrapped and packed.. it might go through the sorter and rip a hole!

someone suggested (I think it was be oh be) that IF you are shipping a thinner package, that you include something that will NOT fit through the sorter (ping pong ball, etc) The PO is putting some of these things in the sorter even though we pay for the package pricing. With the thin, non bubble envies, this is causing a rip in the packaging, and the contents can fall out.

If you are shipping in non bubble envies, you also might want to line the inside with an extra piece of paper (may help).

PO can be weird at times. I just sent something out, recipient got it postage due -- I use a brand new scale, accurate when I've checked it on known weights, use it 100% of the time, and use either Paypal or stamps (for small items).

I occassionally take my weighed and stamped items to be checked. Last time I did, it showed that my scale was a tenth of a percent off. Luckily, it was in my favor!
