I never had the problems most people speak of with the CE's....I have had some problems but none that justifies turning people off of them altogether. I prefer the one's that break down completely, like the Visions which are easier to clean and dry. Not the Stardust's which are harder to clean.

I'm a total newb to vaping, and just ordered an Ego-C Twist CE5 1100mAh starter kit (it will be here Monday, yay!) but I feel like my head is spinning with all of the information on here. If anyone is willing, I'm looking for tips or tricks that might help me with getting the hang of this particular vaporizer, things/problems to avoid, etc. I have a few sample juices coming to try, so I know I'll have to find the right nic level, flavors, % ratio, how many batteries, and all of that to suit. In the meantime though, I'm sure there are others who have made newbie mistakes they could've avoided with help, or learned some neat stuff they wish they had known to start. Any input is appreciated, thanks! :)

ETA: I'm Hillary by the way, hi everyone :]

Hi Hillary,
nice name!
Ego-C Twist battery is very good, you can try to adjust the suitable voltage by twistng the bottom of the battery to get the right vapor for you.
There are 8 grids on the knob at the battery bottom, and each represents 0.2V. Spin the knob in a clockwise direction to increase output voltage and spin the knob in an anti-clockwise direction to decrease output voltage. Higher output voltage gives more vapors. You can adjust the output voltage so easily and enjoy the whole vapor time.
if you want find the backup kits,K500 is also a nice choice for girls,it is very slim and small, have a nice charging box.

If you are going to get a spare battery - any $12 to $15 eGo battery would work - you don't necessarily have to spend the money on another twist.........

I ordered a Vision Spinner 1300mAh for my back up. I'm not sure how long they'll last me yet, so I want to see that first. I also ordered an EVOD, so I can see if I like top or bottom coil better. I figure once I get the general category down, I can experiment with what I like from there (I hope that's not a dumb idea?) and try new ones.

The horrible part is my juice samples got here a day early, today, and everything else won't be here until Monday or after! I feel so taunted right now haha.

UR welcome and have fun vaping!

Don't be in a hurry to get more different stuff. Slow and easy is the way to go. Once you have learned all the intricacies of the equipment you have, then you can start looking for more/better vap.

I'm still using the stuff I started out with and still learning something new about them every day.

Just ask when you are ready and we are here for you.

Congrads on quitting and cheers!

I have a !300 mah Spinner also, very nice. The Evod is a good choice, and like you said will let you try two different types of toppers.
I believe the CE5 has changeable heads, so you should be able to take it apart and clean it fairly easily as well as the Evod. Best of luck.

I do have a question: The ohms are the difference in warmth, right? So which would be most similar to a top coil one? Basically, a lower or higher one? They seem to come standard at 2.5 in most places.
lower the resistance the more power can flow thru it...2.5Ω is at the higher end for eGo type batteries (Li Ion max charge is 4.2vdc, discharged is 3.6vdc) most recommend going 1.8Ω coils, and since you are getting a spinner you turn it down restricting the voltage and turn it up slowly to find your proper vape

ok..with this chart (not a definite number mind you but gives you a visual representation to go by)
power.jpg

Most people find the sweet spot for vaping at 6-7watts...max watts at 4.2bdc is 6ish watts but drops off

It's confusing...but with the lower head resistance coil it has the ability to START at higher power, then you can tune it easily from there

That's the beauty of the VV (variable volt) but it's all manual...the niceness about VW you set it to what watt level you want...the electronics in the control head calculate and auto adjusts...for the perfect vape every time...no matter what resistance you put on it

It looks like the battery would cost near as much (~$20) to buy separately as it would cost to buy an extra pack (~$23). Would that be better, since I could get all 3 for about the price of a battery?

$13.22 Joyelife EGO-C Twist 900mAh
$2.62 EVOD
$1.67 Electronic Cigarette USB Charging Cable (19cm)

Maybe in the future: $37.21 INNOKIN iTaste SVD Worldwide Free Shipping :)

Overseas shopping is not my bag. I've been in way too many co-ops where overseas shopping goes badly. The wait + possibility of crappy items doesn't make the value worth it for me, especially if you need to return or replace something. I would rather pay extra for the convenience of having it sooner, and the option to have it returned or replaced in a reasonable amount of time if necessary. Thank you, though!

I know there are many advantages to pay a little bit more and get it quick to you and have a great and fast support if something goes wrong. On the other hand i already have some batteries so i dont really mind to wait 1-2 weeks more for new stuff, often for half the price. I forgot to tell you, that the Liqua juices are good and cheap.

Happy vaping ;)

Hi, Hillary, and welcome to ECF and the world of vaping. I'm with you 100% on buying in the USA. It's just my opinion, but I think if we want to keep jobs in the US we need to prove it by buying in the US! (Of course, all this stuff is still made in China, but at least we can do some of our business with US vendors!)

The only problems I've had with CE4/5s was with the wicks. Most of the ones you get are nowhere near long enough, and this requires tilting the clearo to make sure the wicks stay saturated. If possible you want to try to get the ones with wicks that reach the bottom of the tank. That's rather hard to do, which is why I'm starting to switch over to bottom coil clearos.

Just curious, but where did you get your starter kit? Online? I might be interested in checking out that site!

I totally agree with your logic. The Joyelife is not a JoyeTech. The Evod is not a Kanger Evod either. I buy the real products from US vendors and if I have an issue it's resolved in days not weeks or months.
