Here are a couple of simple calculators

Nic-Mix by Telemole

eJuice Recipe Calculator

1. Start small. Start by mixing up 1-3ml sample sizes that way if you mess up it won't kill you if you have to toss it.

2. Don't toss it. Make one large bottle your "mystery juice" bottle. I have a couple from when I used poly fill and would squeeze out the left over liquid. They actually taste pretty good. Better than some liquids I've paid good money for.

3. Go easy on the flavoring. A little often goes a long way.

4. The smell of your liquid doesn't not always indicate how it will taste when you vape it.

5. Get some good 3ml syringes with needles, blunt or sharp, doesn't matter. They are great for measuring.

6. Write your recipes down that way you won't forget them.

7. VG is sweeter than PG so if you are using it plan on it being sweeter than regular liquid.

8. PG gives better TH than VG does.

Please add to these as you see fit!

That's great Jules, Thanks. Another question.

I am going to try a couple of VG liquids. The supplier actually suggested cutting with water or alcohol. Any ideas how much I should use to 'water down' all VG juice.

Come to think of it . . . I sure hope it says that on the bottle or i will forget!! CRS disease. :(

Great thread, Jules.
For tip #2 - mystery juice- I'v found that you might need up to three separate mixes
One fruits, one coffee/candy, and one tobacco blend.
I don't use anything menthol, but I would keep those separate if I did.
There are some seriously strong coffee concoctions out there, and they can ruin a bottle of tutti fruiti :)

I'm hooked on FlavourArt tobacco flavors. I'm also allergic to PG so I use VG to mix. My ratio is:
20% PGA - I like the throat hit
76% VG/VG w/nic
4% flavor
I also add a drop or 2 of the FlavourArt Vape Wizard. It really does help round things out for a smooth vape.

I was mixing flavors for a while, but I've found I tire of a flavor quickly. Though I did enjoy mixing tobacco flavor with LorAnns Brandy and a bit of LorAnns Cotton Candy. Made for a sweet brandy tobacco - kind of like a pipe.

I would think Marshmallow would more than sweetener, but ???

I read somewhere that a drop of raspberry makes chocolate better, more authentic... anyone know about that?
Marshmallow...hmm...haven't thought of that. I'll have to find some marshmallow flavoring. I tried adding more FV, no go. Didn't give me what I'm seeking, which is something similar to JC's French Vanilla.

What you want to do is deepen the flavor. Basically, a flavor is usually a few chemicals. Let's say a chocolate flavoring has 3 chemicals in it. An actual piece of high quality chocolate has 100+ chemicals in it that add to the flavor. If you add a touch of raspberry, you won't be able to notice the raspberry flavor itself, but the additional chemicals will evoke a wider array of taste buds.

So, if you want to enhance the French Vanilla you could really try anything. Sometimes I like to drip just one drop of another flavor onto an atomizer I've been using for another one of my flavors to see how they work together. If you just want it sweeter then you might try Sucralose or Ethyl Maltol.

I'm confused. I thought PG added flavor, and VG added TH. It's the other way?

Speaking of flavors.. does anyone know which company has the best waffle flavor?

Any time you cut liquid you lose flavor. PG doesn't add flavor but you seem to lose less flavor if you cut with it. You get a better TH from PG. VG adds sweetness and significantly reduces flavor and TH. If you are going to mix with VG you need to add either a little PG, higher nic liquid or some sort of Alcohol like vodka or PGA to get the TH back. At least that is what I've found to be the way it works for me.

ah, ok, that would explain why the juice comps like to use PG...I meant, saves flavor, or enhances.. I didn't know that either of them added something; as the VG adds sweetness? Is that why so many of the dekang juices taste like perfume to me... aren't they mainly VG?
Ok, ok. But does the VG add more vapor? I know that PGA does, but I don't like the thought of adding that to my juice. I'm not much of a drinker, so I question adding it to my juices.

PG = more flavor, more TH, less vapor.
VG = less flavor, less TH, more vapor.

Vapor hounds like me need the VG, but a bit of PG (I usually go 50/50, a bit more VG if my nic/flavors are a bit thin) will help bring the flavor thru :)

FYI for those that use Levy's juice, he can mix PG/VG nicquid, I was instructed to just leave those instructions in the comment section on your order.

pga = pure grain alchohol

If you mouse over anything that is underlined with dots, it will show you the definition.

Blaze: as you know I use Levy too. Which mixture for your nic liq do you find works best? I am assuming you cut it, so what do you cut it with?

The first time I ordered it, I thought I had it mixed with VG (36mg), so I could add a little PG and drops, and end up with more of a VG based liquid. (I prefer vapor over TH too). After using it, I realized that it didn't have enough flavor, so the second time I ordered it PG based (50mg). When I received the second bottle, I discovered that my first bottle was PG based too! Whoops, that would explain the lack of vapor I was looking for.
anyhoo...
I am now ready to start using the 50mg PG based and cutting it down to the mid range (12-18), and I want about equal; vapor vs flavor.. so what would you suggest I do? AND for the next time I order the nic juju, what would you suggest as the base?

Thanks for reading and any help! :D
