Been using KF4 RTA's for a while now, and the juice control/deck oring leak is really frustrating me. I'll source some orings to fix this sooner or later, but it's time to try some different things now.

Got the following on order from China-slow-boat now.

Erlkonigin clone
Taifun GT2 bits to make 2x atomizers (ss/glass and bell cap with 2x bases)
Tobeco KS clone mod
UD Goliath V2 clone

Really testing the waters here, but I hope I find one that I really like and can order a few "gooders" of. (It's a Canadian expression)

Not released yet, but I've really got my eye on is the Cthulhu V2.

My top features in a tank;
  • juice control
  • air flow control
  • top filling
  • leak free

I know that's asking alot, but we all have lofty goals right?

Thoughts?

The Squape R is a bottom filler that fills just like the EVOD/Nautilus etc. You get access to the coil without emptying the tank, but it isn't good for temperature control for some reason.

My other go to tank is a Russian 91%, which is a redesign of the Kayfun. It's advantages were used for the KF Lite and Lite+. It needs a screwdriver for filling, but it's not that much hassle. One of those keyring-type screwdrivers is fine. No access to the build deck but works fine with TC. Maybe a little less leakage than the Squape, but in both it only amounts to a little moisture now and again.

Tobeco clones, I'm aware of the o-ring issue. I'd like to pretend I'm noble enough to spend $100+ on an authentic, but there's no way I can bring myself to do that when I can get "almost" the same thing for less than 1/4 of that.

Something that's also got me searching for a different RTA is that I'm looking for something that can give a cool dense vape, and is well suited to TC. The KF4 is a PITA with a TC mod.

I have one of those on order from FC. I'm really looking forward to getting it and giving it a try. It should fit the profile of my VT40 pretty nicely, and be shorter than my KF4 so it'll be more pocketable as an all day tank (hopefully). I vape a tank or more a day at work so this should easily last with 7ml on board.

roxynoodle, thanks for the list, I'm going to be doing some reading up on those.

Thanks rurwin,

To be clear, I use the juice control for filling only so as to prevent flooding when the top is off. That was the main draw of the KF4 for me.

Inverted tank fills would also work too, I just prefer less fussing around for filling.
I would recommend Tayfun GT-T 2. Extremely easy to coil/wick, no need to empty tank for recoiling, very easy filling (any time, even with wide mouth bottle, inverted tank method). Have to mention that KF4 does not leak for me (couple drops from time to time).

Got two on order from fasttech. Got clones as parts, two base/chimney kits, one topper kit, and one poly bell cap.

Looking forward to trying them out. The build on them and the KS clone really has me excited. Simple builds on both seem apparent, and the huge juice capacity on the KS will be a huge advantage for a work tank that will get me through the day.

I'll probably put a taifun gt2 on my clone vaporflask 60w and use the KS on my vt40.

I can also have a spare gt2 for a backup ready to go I'd i#ues arise with either.

I was going to get one, but the brass posts concern me. The authentic uses gold plated.
Yah that does not bother me. Eliquid is not in the PH range to corrode brass or copper. I can point you to some actual data if your interested but its easy enough found on the net. If eliquid was in the range to corrode these metals, everyone center posts, barrels and top caps would be disintegrated. And thats real talk, I have researched this in many non vaping publishing's. And I work with the stuff and electronics on the daily.

But I understand your concern. I do not expect to change your mind but maybe it will ease it some.

My concern is more that cheap brass may contain more lead than I'm comfortable with. If that clone had SS posts I would have ordered it immediately to try it out. I've been interested in the authentic a long time.

Fair enough. If it is cheap brass it will dull PDQ, ill let you know what its like when I get it. I would really like to have a authentic. If I could afford it I would not mind paying the 2bills to get it. I think its in the same class as the Mark Bugs stuff and hey some things draw more money.
