kayfun SERIES TERMINOLOGY

If your a newbie <<<(Weve all been there, unless your name is Socrates), or been around but the kayfun terminology has given you the blues, I put this in format so you could have a easier to understand experience. It can be complicated, especially when someone refers to something in a terms which DO NOT fit the particulars. <<< Which happens a lot, both in forums and from vendors. For some of you, and I do stress the word "SOME", <<<(Read,Chew,Swallow), I hope this helps:

Ergo: The photos are as the products arrives from vendor without modification:

1) Kayfun 3.1 aslo known as the Full Russian. (From vendors, sometimes the letters ES are added. ES is German for Edelstahl, it is the German word for premium steel.) Taller atomizer base Kayfun, for a reason. The base has inside a reservoir to prevent flooding and to aid in delivery of ejuice for combustion. By a long shot it is easier to top fill than Kayfun Lite Plus versions,(which really isnt recommended),with a little practice it is simple. Also has a side ejuice filling hole. Two methods of filling are available per the manual. Side screw air control on the atomizer base which works excellent. Has two holes thru the atomizer chamber, which perhaps assists in equalizing and moving air thru the atomizer chamber. Stock full Russian comes with a top cap that is NOT 510 compatible for other drip tips. However, you can purchase an adapter or order other caps for cheap to allow for this feature. Has excellent air flow control. Known for its airy rich vape, flavor, simplicity to build and dependability. While it has fallen out of favor from some vapors due to newer devices, it remains a high quality top notch device, and fan favorite of some. >>> ME

Note: Loosely used, all Kayfun lites or Kayfun lite pluses might be or could be reffered to as the Russian 91, because, presumably, they are approximately 91 percent of the length of the Kayfun 3.1 or full Russian. The difference in height is on the base atomizer, wherein the atomizer is shorter then the one in number 1 above. The significance of the name Russian 91 is discussed below, there is a slight difference between the two when the term is used accurately. Loosely employed the term Russian 91 is insignificant in identifying anything, correctly employed it tells you subtle differences that exist between that atomizer and the Kayfun Lite Plus.

2) Kayfun Lite Plus (sometimes called the Russian 91) The terms Kayfun Lite Plus and Russian 91 are manufacturer dependent terms, the products are almost identical. While some might argue the Russian 91 has an adjustable center pin, I have some that are called such that dont, which means its a Russian 91 clone. (The word Plus is indicative of an airflow control mechanism added.) The authentic Russian 91 has an adjustable center pin. The differences in name also includes slightly differing airflow control systems, although they are much the same, its is fairly much an after thought. The skinny is they are almost identical and the usage of the term by the manufacturers has become at best informative, at worst useless. Dont discount one that is called a Kayfun Lite Plus clone, because that probably is, the Russian 91. Some say the Russian 91 has larger airflow capacity, but they are roughly equivalents. Also Kayfun Lite Plus has become the identifying name of this atomizer commonly, by many retailers, regardless. As a practical matter some companies who sell the Kayfun lite Plus, simply call them KayfunLites, so check off wether they have air flow control or not. That's the long of it,the short of it is - the products are almost identical, so your better off looking for one, minus the terms - that is buyer approved or reviewer approved.

The actual device is, the smaller brother of 1 above, has a smaller atomizer base in length, but same width on the build deck. Has side screw for airflow control. Has no ejuice reservoir which makes top filling difficult. Air flow holes on the deck are subtracted, which has resulted in a denser, fuller stream of vape. Stock item top cap does NOT accommodate other 510 drip tips, but other top cap accessories are available for dirt cheap if you wish. Same roomy deck allows for ease of coil building. (NOTE: If you are buying something labeled a Russian 91, check to make sure it has airflow control either on the features list,or look at the pictures. It should have two holes (2) on the base of the atomizer. - One for air, and one for an air flow control screw. If you dont check this off you could be buying a number 5 below.) Whatever the case the RBA remains, the one today to which others are compared. (Personally, I think this RBA always will be a staple in the ECIG industry, even tho many have made claims to have surpassed it.)

3) Kayfun Lite Plus V2 (not called a Russian 91 because the V2 term - clarifies it.) Is all of number 2 above with two major changes. Those two changes are the following: 1) The air flow control screw is removed from the side and instead attached to the bottom of the tank. 2) Comes with a stock top cap which allows for different 510 drip tip connections. The airflow control changes have modified the air draw on this device to some extent, wether the actual air flow change is an enhancement or deleterious, you be the judge to your own personal vaping preference/experience. Stock kits sometimes come with what is called a Nano Kit, which is simply a way to make the device smaller and hold less ejuice. It is basically a show piece item. Nano kits work on other Kayfun versions as well.

4) Kayfun Mini. (Whatever the version) A small slender Kayfun but obviously the Kayfun has been compromised. Has a really tiny build deck which makes building coils a chore. It is what it is.

Not in photos:

5) Kayfun Lite (Original)( (note the word plus is lacking, plus is simply indicative of an adjustable air valve included on product) The non plus version has NO air control adjustment feature and has standard only air intake and the air flow cannot be adjusted without more machining. This unit LOOKS identical to number two above but has only one hole on the side of the atomizer for air intake, the Plus version has two. Since most people opt for the Plus version, the terminology is many times omitted in proper language in forums /other places, including from reputable vendors ie( This Kayfun is not as popular anymore, for obvious reasons.)

6) Kayfun lite plus 29-30mm: Wide base Kayfun capable of holding a huge amount of juice.

7) Kayfun 3.0 or Kayfun Lite Plus V3 is sort of lost space definition wise. 3.0 or V3 is used to identify the following:

Correctly from the manufacturer the V3 term mainly adds this to v2:

A) The fill valve has also been recessed further into the bottom cap to allow the top of your juice bottle to make a more efficient connection with the valve and prevent wasting juice. An O-ring has also been added to the fill valve screw, ensuring a leak-proof seal. <<< Isnt that last item a biggie? Better off ordering extra
cheese.

Notation: (The term 3.0 as opposed to V3, is the same as The Kayfun Lite plus listed in number 2 above and is INFREQUENTLY called the 3.0 (Just another term for the same beast.)

or in some cases the term V3 to denote the following:

B) Kayfun lite plus V3: A virtual spitting image of V2. On closer inspection it is .2 mm shorter in length. Best guess it was done to correct some leaking/fitting issues or second generation V2's with some probable machining corrections.(Note that the modifications are so minor to the V2 it is essentially the same unit as the V2.) Therefore, it is sort of a passed by product. AND some unscrupulous vendor used the term to as tho it was a new product, and all it was was a Kayfun Lite Plus with accessories.

The skinny is, there really is no V3 of the Kayfun Series representing a significantly new unit, it became lost airspace in the Svestemoe, Kebo Manufacturers battle of the Kayfuns. V3 sort of just represents Kayfun V2 tinkering.

8) Russian 91 / 2.0. A spin off of the Kayfun Lite/Russian 91 with enhanced features including different adjustable air flow controls and other minor modifications. Looks a tad bit different, parts are suppose to be Kayfun compatible. Has yet to see the broad appeal of the Kayfun Lite Plus V2 , and the cloners seemed to not jump on the band wagon, except maybe a few.

Since the number 3 was well used up airspace when they got there, 4 became the heir apparent for this:

9) Kayfun V4 (lite plus):<<< (Fourth installment have it that way then, lite -not the 3.1,,, plus means WITH air flow control) Complete redesign, could even have a different name. Dual Coil, with larger air intake, different air adjustment features and with a more curvy and sultry look. Dont give up on the others tho, you can give em a makeover with parts out there for better looks.

++++++++++++ And now that you got all that - aint you a Chef. ++++++++++++++++++++++++

Opinion:

For whatever its worth, the Number 2 above - the Kayfun Lite Plus or aka Russian 91 still is - the cats meow, and Number 1 above, Kayfun 3.1 or Full Russian, still worth the cats lick.
