I have been using my new VV box mod. I am alternating 2 sets of 14500 Li-ion batteries. The question I have is should I use the batteries until they are completely drained, or do I use them for 3-4 hrs then switch them out for the ones on the charger? I am not sure about what the best way to get the most life out of a set. Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated!!

I try not to vape my batteries until they're completely drained, but I don't think it'll hurt anything if you do. I'd say vape until your vapor production starts to drop off and then charge them. I can usually tell when my batteries need charging because they don't fire the atty as quickly and the vapor isn't as thick.

If their protected batts the internal circuit will shut off before you get too low, on IMR high drain batts when you notice your vaper getting thin it would be a good time to swap them out. Usually high drains take forever to get that point, if your using unprotected batts that aren't IMR I recommend getting some of the protected or IMR's.

Although I think it helps slightly to charge more frequently and not drain them all the way to cut-out level, 14500's are < $5.00 each so I don't even sweat it. The cut out circuitry is designed to protect from over-drain. I think the charger is more likely to affect this... with heat build up during charging depending on how fast it tries to charge them. From what I understand they degrade during charging. It's a guess, but I'd check into chargers if you're really all that worried about it.

I use em till they cut out, or just before when I notice performance being crappy, then charge. When they die, they die... and I have some about a year old.

If they are regular LiCo cells with a protection circuit, you could rely on the protection circuit to cut them out, but the PCB cuts out at a pretty low voltage (less lifespan)

If you are using LiMN batteries (AW IMR, other IMR) there's no protection circuit and you CAN overdischarge them, quite easily too if you're using a regulated mod.. example, I use them in my Evercool VV box.... The vape doesn't change at ALL through the life of the batteries (because it's a regulated mod)... I can seriously overdischarge the batteries if I'm not careful.. because even with each cell at 3v, there's still enough power to drive the regulator up to 4.5-5v... just the other day I accidentally discharged them to 3.4v.. probably destroyed some of their lifespan.. I like to recharge my IMRs at around 3.6v

My advice? Get a multimeter.. or if it's not a regulated device vapor production / throat hit will start to tail off.. time to recharge
