Hello all,

Fairly new to e-smoking, or smoking 2.0 (as I like to call it). roughly two weeks now and I have yet to buy any analogue fags thanks to a super mini from TW and a couple of bottles of juice.

My question is:
How bad (or good) is dripping for you atomiser. As in putting one or two drops directly on the atomiser and puffing away.

I was perfectly happy with my cartridges until I discovered dripping and now can't stop.....8-o

Any advise very welcome.

Also if anyone could tell me roughly what the life span of a super mini atomiser and battery are I would be really gratefull. My kit came from TW after a fair bit of research and seeing some good feedback but any anecdotal evidence of life spans would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Shamus:)

Well, I can't say how good or bad it is for your atomizer, because I haven't conducted any experiments myself. Personally, I find it more convenient, and like the amount of vapor that I get. In my experience, it seems to be a bit more than when I used carts. It also gives me a good idea of how much I am smoking, and let's me pace myself. (3 drips = ~10 puffs = ~1 analog... or at least that is what I have read. Take that statistic with a grain of salt unless someone can confirm it..)

I currently use my RN4081 (Supermini) as my primary eCig, and exclusively drip with it. I find that it is a pain to do it any other way, because the carts are a pain to get out of the end cap. Just killed off my old atomizer 2 days ago, after about a month and a half of constant use. I have yet to try and revive it, but my guesses are that it is deader than a doornail. Can't say if it was from dripping, or if it was just "it's time" to go.

Hope that helped a bit.

P.S. The batteries are still going strong. Haven't had a dead one yet..

i also prefer dripping...all this stuff about it damaging atomisers is rubbish...

so long as you dont run it too dry it does no harm...

as for life spans...nobody knows...could fail at any time at all...

you need to keep spare atomisers and batteries for your existing ecig,or buy a backup ecig or two...because at some point it definitely will fail...

I'm doing the same, dripping a super-mini with TW liquid. So far I have had it for 25 days and had no problems whatsoever. Did 2 weeks with cartridges I purchased with it, then a few days topping up cartridges, and the past week dripping onto the atomiser.

Overall I would say dripping onto the atomiser is definitely the best smoke, and doesn't seem to do any damage to the atomiser itself. If anything I think it stops it getting as hot, presumably due to the fact its not making contact with any gauze whilst heating if starting to dry. The cartridge itself definitely doesn't feel as warm now.

I have my spare atomiser ready for when this one goes, but so far no problems.

And if you haven't done it already, push a straightened paper clip or something through the hole in the bottom of your cartridge to knock out the part that holds the gauze, leasving a hollow cartridge. Much better smoke :)

(oh, and before the idea pops into your head... don't saw the bottom off the cartridge like I did... waaaay too much work for the atomiser and results in far too much overheating! lol)

Sounds like you're in the same boat I was a couple of weeks ago.

5 weeks ago I got my super mini. I used up all my carts in 2 weeks, and started dripping after that. So 3 weeks on, and with regular rinsing in hot water, dripping 2-3 drops at a time, my atomiser is still holding out. Which I'm very happy about because the supplier I bought from doesn't offer any spare parts.

Well, I have no preference flavour-wise. Ususally I use carts and top them up frequently when using the DSE901 and can't really tell a major difference in taste. Carts are just easier, fill a few before I go out. No need to drip and drive. That being said, I only drip with my Fuglybox (battery pack mod) cuz it operates a lot hotter and seem to cook the wool in the carts. :pI only use that at home anyway.
p.s. I got a very puzzled look from the dude in the next car when I took the DSE out my shirt pocket, "smoked" it a few times and put it back.
