Whats the point of dripping?

Personally I got into dripping after my first atty died, I have a 510 magma kit and when my first atty went bad I found some guides online on how to revive it and mod it for dripping (removing wick and exposing coil) and I like dripping because IMO I think I get a better vaping experience all around with dripping. I get more flavor, better TH and more vapor on the same atty compared to cartos and like Riverboat said its super easy to do and easy to get used to it.

I've been vaping for 2 years now and I've tried to enjoy dripping. I've used ego 510 bridged and bridgeless atomizers but I can't get them to give me more than 2 (large) hits before the burnt taste kicks in. If i add more than three or four drops of juice, it leaks all over.

There must be something to it because people really seem to like it but I've found the ego-t and a boge cartomizer in a tank to be far superior in terms of convenience. With a new wick/cartomizer and a decent voltage, the taste/vapour is just as good as dripping IMO.

You have several in rotation...that must be it... I use only one a time....

One at a time won't work for me. I keep four in rotation as my taste changes throughout the day. I no longer all day vape one juice.

My opinion is that dripping is for aficionados. Users of different methdologies do so depending upon ease of use and satisfaction derived thereof. Some methods have trade offs that are accepted.
With dripping, there is no hidden agenda.

I do it for simplicity...

Don't have to worry about how my juice is feeding (no wicks, no filler)

or about not having enough juice(I carry an 18ml bottle with me)

There are simply less points of failure... so a weird fire is more easily diagnosed.

1 atty lasts me > a month... and only takes about 10 minutes to clean well enough to change flavors should i get bored.

Plus I work at a place where they are perfectly fine with me vaping at my desk... so I sit and drip all day... any sort of tank would just be overkill at my desk.

Someone correct me if im wrong but I view actual "dripping" as kind of an "old school" technique. I was dripping long before I ever heard of any wick/tank technology. It's flavor is great, though I would't say superior. Very handy for taste testing. Less work and quite a bit cheaper than even using blanks to test. Not really good for all day vaping imo. But it's just that, an opinion.

Just flood them like once a day and blow them out. That way they don't need cleaning as often. When you do clean them always prime them before putting them away.

Prime the atty before putting it away? What exactly do you mean by "prime".

I vape after work using an atty. I enjoy the ritual, and the quality of the vape is outstanding. I normally just rinse out the atty, blow it out, and set out to dry on a paper towel. That's it. Please tell me more about priming them. Thanks.

At work, or driving, I use a CE2. Surprised to see so much love for the CE2 in this thread. I figured people would have moved on to something else by now.

If anyone has a minute, what modding of the CE2 are you talking about? I've trimmed wicks before so that thicker juice works better, but that's about it. What other modding is there? Also, to bring a CE2 back to life, I take it apart and dry burn it a few times. Is this bad as well?

A lot or people are going to swear up and down that the taste is superior due to lack of filler material that you get with a cartomizer. My response to that is that using a ce2 model carto or tank like the vivi nova, the juice comes into contact with even less metal so the purer taste is not had on a wire mesh atomizer but in a wick/coil type set up.

I've tried both and think the ce2 is far superior in taste and when modded correctly produces denser and more consistent vapor.

My view on dripping is that it's mostly in people's heads.

I have tried ce2... also all sorts of clearo's (Vivi Nova and Tank, Stardust V1/V2/V3, Kanger clearo's T2/T3, aClear) and cartos (Boge, Smoktech, ECHO) etc. For my taste, none of these products can compare and compete with 510 and 306 when it comes to performances, especally flavour.

I like dripping because there is a definite beginning and end to each vaping session, more like smoking was.

Plus the flavor, and it is extremely economical on juice...combine that with a rebuildable dripping atomizer and 100 ft of 30 GA. Kanthal wire plus a bag of cottonballs for wicks and your vaping for like 10 cents a day or whatever!:D

Very low maintenance and extremely easy to change wicks without recoiling too.

Put a little juice in it.
There is a reason that many new atties come with a primer in them, and those that don't have a primer in them have never been tested with power applied. Once an atty has been used, leaving the coil dry will kill the coil in short order.

I drip primarily when sampling juice or if I have a small amount of juice left that I don't want to put in a cartomizer or cartomizer tank (because there just isn't enough). I don't drip on the go.

I really like to drip using a 901 bridgeless atomizer with a drip shield - no leaking (since any overflow accumulates in the drip shield and will be used later).

I have a bottle of flavorless juice (50% VG) that I'll use to prime an atomizer after cleaning (boiling and soaking in vodka).

I wouldn't say "Old School"... maybe "Purist" or "Minimalist"... kind of like rolling your own cigarettes compared to buying them by the pack.

Thanks for the reply. Atomizers come from the factory with primer in them, but that liquid is clear and most likely low on impurities. I was thinking that a few drops of my favorite e-liquid left in there after each use would only gunk up the coil.
