To eVic or not to eVic?

I use mostly Kanger T3, CE3 (all sizes) onto several vv batteries. Thanks to the PCC and a Kgo vv passthrough I vape most of the day without worries. I've had these batteries for 4 months now, and I know some will start dying on me soon. So I've been thinking about an eVic, but what keeps me away from it is its size (although I know I can get it a smaller tube and a smaller battery) and the fact that I can't put it into a lanyard. I want a true VW automatically set (That's why I'm not considering a Vamo) and being able to use the T3 without an adapter (there's a video from Sun Vapers about getting a grommet in for better contact)... Is it so great the vape with VW that would make the enormous difference?

I have an eVic and understand your concerns. It's not too big to me, but I have huge meathooks for hands.

I don't much use my eVic "out and about" because I'm concerned about dropping it and watching my money shatter. But it is an awesome vaporizer, and a thing of beauty. I don't regret getting it.

I sent an email to the guy at serentity gear in hope that he'll start making gear for eVics. We'll see. I'd be pretty happy to see that added to his line-up.

If you have items mostly in the same ohm ranges, you may not notice much difference. On my VAMO, I've already found I set it and forget it at 5.5 watts. But I could just set it and forget it at 3.7 or 3.8 volts and be in the same range for all my cleartos, which sit around 2.6 ohms.

We seem to natively think better in watts, so that helps a little. I know that 11 watts would be double the power of 5.5, whereas doubling the voltage would be four times the power. I don't have to do the conversion in my head.

Not that I ever really did, I did it by taste.

The eVic certainly seems like a nice unit. I've seen combination lanyards/pouches that will hold almost any unit, so maybe that would be an option for you.

I do have the eGo 18350 upgrade (same tube, different head). It's huge. The smaller tube will be shorter, but still very thick around.

i too think the eVic is too large, since I have a VV lava-tube i didnt want to spend the money and get something of the same size, with the added bonus of the puff counter :) (sarcasm inserted here).

What i'm planning on doing, is buy the unit in pieces. I Think the head alone is 72 ish $ - plus the 18350 tube is like 10$ - and the battery is 9$ (i already have 2 batteries). So the unit will only cost me around 82$ plus shipping. I plan on using it in mini mode all the time, unless for some crazy reason the 18350 isnt enough for me.

it takes me 24 hours to go through a 650mah ego, so the 18350 is fine for someone like me.

Your mileage may vary of course, but even if the 18350 is not enough juice, you can always go into large mode and you'd be fine.

I go through 2 or 3 650mAh eGos a day... That's why I love the PCC, it all adds up to almost 4000mAh... Maybe the 18350 will be just too small for my needs

I'll be honest...in the range that I vape in 7-9 watts, it's as good as my zmax. Maybe better because it doesn't have the rattlesnake sound.

The eVic is not that big compared to a zmax, vamo, anyvape etc and it's definitely lighter than the Vamo and Sigelei Zmax. On the plus side you don't a separate charger if you don't already have one.

Joye is now selling a way overpriced 3400 mah NCR for it but you could pop a panasonic 3000 plus mah NCR in there and be fine all day.

In before someone tells you to buy a provari

So do I, but I have a passthrough. I'm seriously looking at the Innokin MVP - 2600 mAh batt, passthrough, VV (and the great puff counter, also sarcastic). Plus it's only $70. I admit, I really don't like the flashlight / toothbrush looking mods, so if that's your thing, this device won't be attractive to you.

I'm looking forward not discarding the whole device when the battery dies. That's one of the points of a flashlight type mod, exchanging batteries is 11/12 dollars instead of 30 that any eGo sized vv costs...

I think that with 1 18650 and 1 18350 should cover me for whole 2 days of vaping, plus the passthrough feature that is what I love the most, specially when sailing. I'm racking my brain on how *somehow* get some kind of lanyard. The 18350 should be enough for going out, plus I can plug it into my car's cigarette lighter conector... Still thinking!

I have a shiny new eVic that I just purchased on Saturday. The past couple of days I have been traveling to visit customers and such (by car, not plane). I have carried it in my jacket pocket a bit, but I'm not sure I would want to do that on a regular basis unless I can come up with a better way to carry it. I think for a regular "out and about kit" I will probably go with a Twist and Kanger T3 for now. Oh how I pine for a VW Twist :)

The battery life is astounding. I have been using it pretty heavily for two straight days and its still at 45%. I was using 2-3 eGO batteries a day before purchasing the eVic. It is great for long car rides.

They have a 3400 mah on their website for it now. Plus different color tubes. I am guessing only a matter of time before they come out with their own shorter tubes although I know some smaller ones fit. Plus there is actually a bristish message board where someone is selling ss tubes for it and I think it is telescopic(whatever that means lol I am pretty new to this) but I haven't seen anywhere to go to buy them. I guess you have to sign up for that forum if you wanted it. However for the price of all that I guess that would be in the provari range.
