So finally got my first APV, a sigelei Zmax V5, and read allot about needed to use Noalox on the threads, so I ordered some with it. Just got it today and when I tried the threads I think they are pretty smooth. I'm a little weary about smearing this gray gunk all over my brand new APV. Anyone have any advice for a new vaper? Thanks in advance!!

The issue with the threads is not how secure they are but how conductive they are. I've got a Z-max V3 Telescope that I resently had trouble with, and in fact returned for replacement to the B&M I bought from (wrongfully as it turns out). Mine began failing to display anything while the Z-max was working fine. The only to get the display to work again was to remove and reinstall the battery. After I had replaced the Z-max I posted an article detailing what had happened. Then I got the story on Noalox. Been using it ever since without problems. Apply a coating on the male threads then with a tissue wipe it away leaving Noalox in the area between each thread.
Note also that when telescoping the tube leave approx 1/8 in of the battery extending beyond the end of the tube, then install the battery cap. This should keep you from overtightening the battery.

Yes, put Noalox on the threads of the Sigelei telescopic tube and the battery cap. Clean the threads with a soft cloth dampened in alcohol before applying Noalox. All you need is a thin coat. I put a little on the top of the threads for both mating parts and then work the parts a little to distribute the Noalox evenly. Noalox will lubricate the threads but the main purpose is to improve electrical conductivity between the two pieces. The tube and threads are part of the ground path (B-). Noalox contains powdered zinc, which is a good conductor of electricity. I clean off the Noalox and replace it every couple of months. It will attract dust and become dry and sticky with time.

I recommend using Noalox on all mods that have a telescopic tube. You can find it online or in the electrical department at Home Depot.
