I read somewhere on this forum that it's a good idea to have 2 atomisers and 2 batteries and use a different set each day. Will this extend their life? Is this necessary? Any thoughts?

Not necessary but of course it would extend the life by 2x.

Many recommend, as do I, that for every full ecig you have, you should have one extra atomizer. The idea is to clean them and switch them out each week (the time period varies - some switch out every few days). So during the cleaning process you can still vape and of course it makes all atomizers last twice as long. Others say don't bother cleaning and vape until the break. Of course, then you want another atty or batt on hand. It's really your choice to clean or not and frankly there is so many different ideas on cleaning that you might just buy a 5 pack of atomizers and try various things yourself until you find something that pleases you. It may be well worth the expense of a few more atomizers and then you'd know.

That said... if you're caught without a full ecig - a battery or atomizer dies, you'll be buying cigarettes until your order comes in.

True... I have at least one spare of each and then I still have my mini cig and it's spares as back-up as well. I got caught with a flat battery once. What a horrible feeling! Trying to vape my delicious cherry and the stupid end is just flickering at me... Had to revert to an analogue, but I didn't enjoy it at all!

pass through is good to have for vaping while sitting by the pc , to save bats.

Look at this way, these are consumables and if you want your system to perform at it's optimum level you need your parts to be in optimum condition. Look at what you spent on tobacco cigarettes each month and then look at the cost of a new atomizer every other month and 30ml of juice which one do you think is going to be cheaper? You could get a new kit each month and still come out ahead. Don't get it into your head that these are a one time expense with the exception of the juice because that is simply not the case.

I rotate between a few different models and atomizers in the models if they aren't the cartomizers which I have grown to prefer. I don't believe in cleaning them every time I have done it I don't like the way it performs after the cleaning or it dies so I don't bother with it, not at the price they are new, I just throw one in with the juice order and don't think twice about it.

Try to think of them as oil filters in your car, it's will run without changing the filter but eventually that filter is going to be filled with gunk and cease functioning right causing your engine to run for crap and ruin it eventually. The atomizers are the same way, you want them clean and fresh in order for your E-Cig to perform at it's top level.

Each atomizer will last some period of time for you. That average life could be two weeks or two months depending on your vaping habits. Rotating atomizers will not increase their life span. What could happen, though, is you are a month down the road and both atomizers die at the same time. That is a potential problem if you have no spare atomizers.

I've had no failures yet (only had my gear since the 7th, so I'm not expecting any soon to be honest). as others have said though, you just have to accept that these things will fail sooner or later.

If I have to buy 40ml of juice and 1 atty per month and (and even a new cell every few months) I am still saving money, but more importantly, the health benefits far outweigh any cash benefits.
