I am a heavy vaper, and I have been vaping with the same tank now for almost 2 months...and am on my 4th carto. (Resurrectors). No leaks, no problems at all. My supplier is another ECF member who self taught using the info she got from the forum and videos. And folks, they are super cheap to make....these prices are outrageous from the suppliers. I think the Chibi tanks are the only ones in the right ball park...and that is still a good profit. Unfortunately my friend does not want to get into the supplier side of this business...just doing for herself and a few friends. But I can vouch that tank vaping is the best I have found. These things should get better and be cheaper in the future as more people discover how great tanks can be.

I had a good laugh the other day when I watched a product revue for a top quality tank that the guy showed how it vapped.
Man he blowed a cloud of vapor right at the camera.

It's a tank, it doesn't do anything except but to keep you from having to fill up the carto/CE2 10 times a day. it won't change the taste (except perhaps the rubber end caps will) The taste is what ever the carto has. So if you are carrying it around and it breaks and leaks juice all over you well you don't want that.

I make my own tanks. They look to be exactly what parkes vaping sales. I'm guessing they make theirs look more professional though cause I can chew the heck out of the tubing. The instructions for making them can be found in the modders section. Anyway, point is that I'm using them daily with boges. Fill once a day, no leaks, no rubber taste, no problem. I would recommend anyone try them. I think it's crazy to put out big bucks for a tank.

i have been using this one Dual Coil 510 Tank Cartomizer for as long as my signature says... just put in my 3rd carto last night. $11.99

i have dropped it numerous times...it has never leaked... yes it is cheaper than most on the market but hey it works...never a burnt taste...i have used it on my ego batteries and on my box mod.

now for quality... the end caps are not cheap rubber grommets like some are sold... they are hard in texture... they do not leak... and any carto will fit into it even though the original is flanged..i vape 80/20 to 50/50 and have never experienced burn taste or lack of draw.

now just because something is more expensive doesnt mean that it is better quality. just because a lemon is $1 in one place doesnt make it a better lemon than a 10 cent lemon from somewhere else..its still yellow on the outside with juice on the inside.

"Just because a lemon is $1 in one place doesnt make it a better lemon than a 10 cent lemon from somewhere else".

yes this is all true.
when I first introduced the carto tank to you DIYers it had brass end caps,, then a nice alum. version but because not everyone could cut inside O ring grooves the rubber washers type end caps got popular. As the DIY tanks began to catch on a lot of people complained about the rubber. Then they complained about the alum. not being safe, then they complained about the tubes cracking. So to address all of the complainers. the top of the line tanks are now made with Surgical stainless steel end caps, Viton rubber O rings and have double thick wall bullet proof Lexan for the tube (or even heavily engraved stainless steel for the tube). So of course they will cost a lot more than the DIY type. ($50.00), Do they work better? NO, I like to think they will last a lot longer and they look really nice. Funny thing back then the MAP tank was the hottest thing going and my carto tank design was scoffed at. It took 8 to 10 months for them to catch on but now everyone has a different version. And the really funny thing is now there are so many different ones on the market that I have people try to explain to me how they work, and each one claiming that they were the one to have invented it. It is nice to see that they have gotten so popular that there is even a dedicated thread in the modder's den. Now it took a long time to get permission to even talk about them on the open forum (and of course the Admin won't let me talk about a given brand or vendor) but I understand that I can discuss the how to's and why for's, So if you are a DIYer ,,, go for it, build one yourself, If you are the health and safety type buy a top of the line one. Or if you just want a tough one to throw around at work, get a good one. Have it gold plated and engraved to show off a bit, think of it as Art. One way or another It's all good, there will be something for every type vaper.

Does this hold true for clearomizers that have their tubes removed? Or is it only for CE2's that have the bottom portion of the tube still in place?

A carto type tank will not work if you remove the tube. That would be a job for the MAP tank. Carto tanks have an inside O ring that needs the tube to seal.

I have used Clearomizers and a few of the latest and greatest with a small hole drilled into the tube but I did have to change the inside O ring for the Clearomizer to fit in. It has a slightly larger tube O.D.

Here is a close up picture of the acorn tank for those curious. Now its not the best looking tank such as those that have stainless end cap which i do think look very nice but this is the one i enjoy and works for me. Going on a month with with same ce2 that i take out and run under water and then blow into cup and then dry burn the coil . This one is the regular size for the standerd size ce2s and i also have the Xl size for the longer xl size ce2s.
Hey im a cheapskate as im retired ! :)

Do you have a seal inside the top metal tube that would seal around the ceramic so that it won't leak if you turn it upside down? Sometimes I take that seal out of the CE2s when I get a gurgler or one that is starving. If I take the seal out it solves the problem but I have to keep in mind not to lay it down on it's side. I'm cheap too and it beats throwing a otherwise good CE2 away.

Yeah i leave the 3 gaskets in the tube . Yes its a no no to lay on its side with too much e-liquid in tank it will flood the Ce2 air tube even with gasket firmly placed and or slots in gasket cut deeper to fit more snug over porcelain coil assembly it works somewhat.
Been there tried that. :)

I vape with a megalodon so when i put it down its always in the upright position. I fill tank to the point where i can vape it in a horizontal position and not flood the airtube and get the gurgle.

Once in a while i will bump and knock the don over and the e-liquid will splash around enough to get in then i just unscrew the tank from the don and blow through the mouthpiece and anything e-liquid will come out the bottom connections 2 tiny airholes.

In the car the megalodon fits nicely upright next to the parking brake next to me i drive a stick shift but was thinking of fashioning some sort of velcro contraption to place next to the radio to hold my PV.

the homemade ones can look alright and perform just as well and just as long lasting as a vendor bought one( i am not knocking vendor ones, i will buy more again)

total cost to build this one? $8 for the pipe cutter... i got some samples of the vinyl grommets and a nice guy from another forum sent me enough to build 6 or 7 tanks.

performs just as well as the one i bought for $11 or the ones sold for $25 or more just not all the chrome or shiny stuff.

total time it took me to make it? less than 5 minutes(took me longer to fill it and wait for saturation of the wicking material)
