I put some more TA in (a lot more) but I just can't seem to get rid of the sweetness from the cotton cany. I may try some bitter wizard or I may just dump the whole thing and move on.

You could also remix with less Cotton Candy which is just EM in a 10% solution and thus very sweet.

True but then I would have to go and get more seedmans, that's another $20 for more concentrate. I will just work with what I have or give up on it. BTW it tastes a lot like FSUSA Ryder juice.

I find this one a pretty good base:

8.75 ml base
.5ml dk tobacco
.5ml tpa caramel
.25ml fa nut mix

That works out to 12.5% flavoring. It is the only tobacco I have found that I almost exclusively vape now. I am looking forward to trying the Kentucky blend clone. Ordered the mix yesterday.

The caramel ruins the flavor for me but it sounds like a good base.

I don't have the nut mix but that's interesting. I'd think the nutty flavor might provide that body and, for lack of a better way to express it, "broadness" that I can't seem to find. I'll have to grab some on my next FA order.

I finally had a little time tonight so I decided to start working my way through the tobacco flavorings I've received. I mixed each of the below FA tobacco flavors in its own bottle as follows:

0 nicotine
3 ml total
50/50 vg/pg mix
5% flavoring

Black Fire
Dark Vapure
Desert Ship
Maxx Blend
Mellow Sunset
Oryental 4
Royal
RY4
Shade
Tuscan Reserve
Virginia

I'll let them steep for several days and then taste test them and post my tasting notes. If I find any to be too weak, I'll increase the flavor percentage and then retest after additional steeping. My overall goal is to taste as broad a selection of tobacco flavors as I can so I'll be better equipped to start blending tobacco juices.

All FA unless noted

#1
Dark Vapure 5%
Black Fire 2%
Bourbon 2% (I prefer buffalo trace, but it doesn't matter :) )
Burley 1%
1 drop of TPA guaiacol per 5 ml
(This may work equally well if you drop the black fire, but I'm not sure. The guaiacol is phenomenal. I asked my gf to smell the juice and she said "omg that smells like nasty cigarettes." Mission accomplished :) )

#2
Perique Black 7%
Caramel 2%
1 drop of TA (PG blend from TPA)
(this works equally well with Latakia in place of Perique, just a slightly different result)

#3
Dark Vapure 5%
TPA bourbon vanilla 1%
1 drop Burley

note: I vape high VG juices (preferably 75%), so YMMV in terms of flavor quantity

Does anyone who does not like an EM based TA have recommendations for using straight up TA as a base?

I have a dilution that's collecting dust on my desk (1 part TA, 9 parts PGA). I threw two drops of it into 5 mls of nic/vg base. Haven't touched it yet.

I diluted some TA in pg at about a 4-1 ratio. I added 4 drops to roughly 5ml of a 20% mix of Dan's tobacco base (that does have EM in it) because it was too light. It definitely "upped" the flavor/strength of the mix but it didn't "broaden" it if that makes any sense. It's still not what I'm looking for.

I'm very curious to hear what you think of your mix of straight TA and pg.

I mixed this 2 weeks ago, at 1 week it was still not ready, but at 2 weeks it is rather good. Of course taste is subjective yada yada, here it is.
In 15 ml bottle:
20 drops FA burley
3 drops pecan TFA
4 drops vanillin TFA
5 drops tobacco blend TFA
5 drops 7 leaves ultimate FA
If you like a lot of cocoa notes you can mix more 7 leaves. I do a hot steep and let it sit for a week. Take the cap off and let it breathe and put it back for another week. The cocoa will gag you if you try and vape it after 1 week, but after 2 it is nice and smooth and rich.

This one is silly simple but it's amazing

2 drops TA
2 drops FA Virginia
1 drop FA oak wood
5ml total

Marlboro Reds!

Where did you get oak wood? I have never heard of that flavor and who sells it? Also, you are mixing with drops, what is that in % and or how much PG/VG did you put the drops in 3ml, 5ml, 10ml?

edit: Okay I saw the 5ml.

It's a Flavour Art flavor. I'm not even sure it's essential to the mix. FA MTs vape wizard would probably have the same effect. It just takes the edge off the TA.

Honestly this is the first time I've used oak wood with good effects. It smells delicious just like the name sounds but it tastes muddy and strange at concentrations where you can actually taste it.

At one drop it just mellows and smooths, maybe adds a hair of an aroma. I added a second drop to that mix and it destroyed all the flavor lol

Also the second time only I'm enjoying TA beyond one drop. The Virginia is magic!

I went to Flavourart's website and there is no oak wood listed but I do have some vape wizard. I am looking for a dry, smokey flavor and after going over the Flavourart sensory chart I am going to try Perique Black, the driest flavor they have, and Latakia, the smokiest flavor they have, and see what I can come up with.

Oak wood isnt a big deal IMO I was just pleased that ingot it to do something

Try ecigexpress.com best FA deals around

I highly recommend Latakia and Perique. I too am after the dry smokey flavor you describe. But honestly Latakia and Perique won't quite fit te bill IMO as stand alones but they can certainly contribute.

Def get some Virginia and black fire. And get TPA guiaicol! Liquid smoke! No bs!

Thanks for the input, I usually use Ecigexpress and FSUSA for my flavors. I love FSUSA Purecig but I can't seem to figure out what is in it. I just about have all the Flavourart tobacco flavors now so I am going to see what I can come up with.

Also I found the oak wood and am going to give it a shot.
