Hi I've been reading threads for the last 2 hours and am still wondering what the difference is between tobacco extract and NET's. Is the taste/result different or is it the extraction method?

Also, Hangsen claim to use "Natural tobacco ingredients" but I'm assuming this is just the nicotine as they also say "tobacco essence".. which is a chemical flavouring, right? www.hkhangsen.com/about-125

Tobacco extracts and/or essences are flavourings. Many of them are synthetically produced to give flavour. Many e-juice vendors use flavourings in their tobacco mixes. These flavourings are often concentrated, and are used for DIY (Flavour Apprentice is one company that sells tobacco extract).

NETs (naturally extracted tobaccos) on the other hand are actually extracted from tobacco leaves. These can also be referred to as "macerations." There are only a few vendors that I know of that use NETS in their e-juices (Tasty Vapor is one).

There is a thread that might be of interest if you want to try your hand at making your own NET extractions:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/liquid-extraction-tobacco/

If you are interested in know which vendors carry NETs, this forum is a great one:

Hope this helps.

So Dekang, Hangsen, and Totally-Wicked should be on the NET's list as most of their juice contains Tobacco Leaf Oil, right?

A good explanation of Tobacco Absolute can be found here:
If anything that thread just confuses me more, from what I can make out, tobacco absolute is the most concentrated substance extracted from tobacco leaves.

To the best of my understanding, tobacco leaf oil is Tobacco Absolute.

Vendors that sell NET juices will state clearly that this is what they sell. Post #158 of the Natural Tobaccos thread outlines American vendors that sell NET juices.

I cannot find any UK vendors that sell these juices, I'm afraid.

Edit: The Alchemist's Cupboard in the UK used to do whole leaf tobacco extractions (NETs), but as far as I can see, they no longer do. It might be worth checking out.

So how is NET different to an absolute.. is the extraction method different or is it the extracted flavour/chemical that is different?

If I boil some tobacco leaves and seperate the water.. is the remaining liquid an NET?

It just seems most NET's are perceived better than tobacco absolute but no one can tell me why/how they are different.

Can't help you with the science but I've vaped plenty of both. There is no comparison. NETs use a large variety of different strains. Each of which is unique on it's own without adding any additional flavor. There is really no comparison between TA and NET vapes if you like true tobacco flavor and its many varieties.

They extract their own TA, and it is close to NET quality I have heard. I'm about to receive a sample soon, so I'll let you know.

I've read the same thing and apparently their TA is the best around. I really like their burley and blue beard so I'm curious how it stacks up against Nets.

Yes that is a NET. I've done my own tobacco extractions using pipe tobacco, VG and a slow cooker.

I've not had any TA juices to date, but the NETs I've had (whether my own extractions, or Tasty Vapor juices) are good.
